Do You Want To Get The Most Out Of Twitter?

Here are 24 game-changing lessons I have learnt in 24 months of actively using Twitter to network and make money.

Grab a cup of coffee...

1.EVERYONE starts at zero followers.

Every follower you ever have is earned.

So, don't flog yourself about your number.

You can only go up from where you are.

Be patient. It’s not world war

2. Your profile serves as a funnel.

Hundreds, and thousands, of people of check you out daily. (check your twitter analytics)

They'll first read your bio, check your picture and banner to decide if you are worth a follow.

Beat up your profile to hook them once they show up.

3.Don’t stress about numbers just yet.

I have closed a $3,000 deal here with a client who had only 82 followers.

I also sold several hundred dollars worth of products when I had only 1,000 followers.

Don’t stress about the numbers yet.

Quality of Followers over quantity.

4.A lot happens in the dm.

Beneficial connections are made,

Deals are struck,

Money changes hands.

There is a lesson here, and it is this:

Your Twitter backend will eventually be worth more than your front end.

5.If your goal is to make money with your account, be honest and straight with yourself.

There's no point trying to pretend and like money isn't what you want.

Decide from day 1 that this is what you want to do, so you don’t start feeling guilty about selling.

6.Not everyone will agree with you.

Sometimes, even your friends will have contrary opinions, and that’s fine.

Don’t create enemies because they don’t agree with you.

Variety is the spice of life,

And your mental sanity is more important than anything else.

7.Be Yourself.

Don’t try to sound like someone else.

People buy into authenticity.

They want to first buy into you before they buy into your products.

Be yourself.

8.People on Twitter love results and proof.

As much as you can, share testimonies of what you have done for yourself and for others.

The other way this works is with your connection to someone respected here.

A photo with such a person adds a huge win to your profile.

9.The fastest way to get the attention of mentors or people you look up to?

Buy their products. Attend their trainings, buy their courses.

Second best way?

Offer your services to them without a fee. Help them solve their problems.

Of course they've got problems.

10.What you expect to go viral may not go viral...

... but from experience, polarizing tweets go viral.

People want to tear their shirts when your opinion opposes theirs.

Don't shy away from expressing opinions that don't seat well with many, as long as it's sensible

11.It is possible for your followers to ‘wow’ at your content and not buy from you.

It is also possible for a tweet to have low engagement and high sales.

This is why I said Backend >> Frontend

12.Twitter helps you develop social skills

Don’t just make connections, build relationships.

As much as possible, take your friendship out of Twitter.
Take it to whatsapp

Take it offline.

Meet up with your friends and followers.

Turn your followers to family.

13.The quality of the content you produce is determined by the quality of the content you consume.

Garbage In Garbage Out.

Quality in, Quality out.

14.Having an email list can practically help you earn the salary of your boss, from home.

There is money is a responsive list of hungry buyers.

Grow a newsletter today.

And learn how to stimulate your list to purge with money.

Twitter can help you build a large list.

15.Get people to be loyal to you.

This is like an insider secret.

Having people who root for you makes it easy for others to pay attention to you, and helps you to make money here.

Build loyalty.

16.Twitter is a good place to validate a product idea that you can eventually spend ad money on.

I have tested several product ideas here and when I got to see how people reacted to it, I went on to run ads to it.

This is not a hard and fast rule, but I figure it works

17. You are your best follower, customer and client.

The value and quality of your mindset affects how you engage people and determines if and how they work with you.

Take care of yourself first before anything or anybody else.

Don't allow the toxicity consume you.

18. The 80/20 rule works on Twitter.

20% of the things you do here will account for 80% of the money you make.

Like sharpening the axe before the strike.

Find your sharp edge and use it to cut.

19. You’d always encounter people doing better than you.

They may have more followers, more love and be making more money.

Let them inspire you.

Don’t feel intimidated.

20. It is not what you sell, it is how you sell it.

Your voice, message, and promise go a long way to determine how people accept what you sell.

Be unique.

21. Oh, and on pricing, people on twitter spend money.

Don’t even joke with it.

I think people are more comfortable paying at a higher price point here for a product than they would on, say, facebook (organic)

22. In the long run, the strongest thing that will sell you and your products on Twitter is Reputation.

It is a silent weapon, but powerful

It is behind thousands of dollars that change hands behind the scene.

Build your account, more importantly,
Build your reputation.

23. Build your mindset,

> Build your skill,

> Build a reputation,

> Build a system,

> Create a product,

> Establish authority...

In that order.

You will hardly go wrong.

24. You have something that someone else needs. Turn your knowledge into assets.

Don't be afraid to monetize your knowledge.

Someone needs to learn what you know.

Twitter is full of people begging for you.

There you have it.

24 solid lessons from 24 months.

I had over 50 written down. But these 24 struck me more.
