The cities have threatened to sue, claiming to deny them Federal Funds would be unconstitutional.

I WOULD TELL THEM -- READ THE CONSTITUTION. THERE IS NOTHING IN THE CONSTITUTION THAT REQUIRES THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO PROVIDE ANY FUNDS TO CITIES.

Those funds provided to cities are targetted funds, provided to cities to help them buy equipment, and train police, and enforce civil peace.

If a city does not use the funds properly as intended, and if they squander the funds and refuse to keep the peace and enforce the law, that is fraud. Fraud against the American taxpayers.

And they should not only be denied the funds, but they should be prosecuted for fraud, and where funds have disappeared and not spent on what was intended by a grant, those responsible should be prosecuted.

So, in New York City, Seattle, Portland, and others (and I'm thinking of Chicago and others) the issue is not a Constitutional one (and those that yell "unconstitutional" should not be in office at all), but it is a matter of misuse of funds, lies, fraud."
