"THE 'SHEMA'
For 2,000 years, the 'Shema' has been the principal statement recited by Jews several times a day. I won’t call it a prayer in the Western sense, because it is more a reminder—
1)
a short instruction of what needs to be thought and what needs to be done for the best results in life. It tells us two primary things. First, what we should believe. Second, our obligation to teach our children, the next generations.

Roger Froikin @rlefraim wrote, "The latest flotilla is nearing the coast of Israel, accompanied by Turkish and Spanish warships.
What to do?
The answer is easier than one might think.
1)
A. If the warships enter Israeli waters, they should be boarded and seized, their crews treated with respect and flown home.
B. The flotilla participants — let them land in Gaza, seize all their boats, and arrest the participants.

@tedcruz Take a look at those within MAGA who supported Iran over President Trump. The Quincy Institute's goal is to sever our unbreakable bond with our ally Israel. May I remind you not only is Iran a terrorist state with many terrorist proxies including Hamas and Hezbollah...
1)
@tedcruz which America designated as terrorist organizations in 1997 and the Houthis which were designated a terrorist organization in 2025 but also the Muslim Brotherhood, which Secretary of State Marco Rubio is currently seeking to designate as a terrorist organization.

Yes, I saw your suggestion that those who do not enlist in the IDF or serve for a couple years in some other national service should be denied the right to vote.
1)
Actually, I agree with you about this, Avigdor. But, though I understand your motives, to force the Haredim to serve or lose the vote, there are a few things you may not have considered.

And, USA should cease subsidizing a failed institution, an institution that has violated its raison d'être.
Perhaps if the UN is elsewhere, Americans can benefit by not having to hear the liars who make false accusations.

I thought of this song when watching how the so-called allies of Israel have chosen to reward terrorists and burden Israel with their choices.
Why 'Promises'?

When something is broken, one tries to see if it can be repaired at a reasonable price. But when it cannot be fixed, it gets discarded and replaced.

The time has come to discard the United Nations Organization — and replace it. Starting fresh, starting with the intention to ensure peace and security, to value national differences and cultures, to respect law —

The choice of so many so-called 'friends' of Israel to recognize a Palestine State, which does not exist and

does not fill the legal definition of a 'state' under International law, has prompted people to ask…
What should Israel’s response be?
Many suggest announcing that Israel will extend its sovereignty to all of the territories.
Let’s look at that.

Israel has been accused of violating International law and of war crimes. So, let’s look at what the law actually says, and not what the media is claiming.
1)
Israel is fighting a 5-way war that was forced on Israel. This is obvious to any normal person who is not motivated by antisemitism or the anti-Israel narratives that can be easily defeated by the facts.
First is the war against terrorists.

Listening to the UN speeches about the Palestinian issue, one hears again and again Israel being characterized as violating international law by 'occupying' and settling 'Palestine'.
1)
When I hear these comments, I think it would be so easy to debate these fools that clearly are either knowingly lying or are ignorant of the law. It has to be one or the other.

I’m not going to rehash history. My concern is today.

And, I want to note that the decisions of governments in Europe about Israel and the Jews are not representative of the majority of Europeans on those subjects today. This is not the 1930s.

But where should it be?
It will never be a replacement for Israel. It will never be beside Israel.
So, let’s speculate where it can be!
1)
How about setting it up in places that seem to be so pro-Palestine? How about Ireland? Or southern Spain? Maybe in France between Nantes and the Atlantic (from the river to the sea?).

The simple fact is that kidnapping and hostage taking is nothing new in the Muslim world. The practice goes back to the early days of Islam in Mecca and Yathrib (Medina), when Christians and Jews were taken hostage and forced to convert to Islam or killed.
