I write about the NorthEast tech sector and help the startups within it. Recovering from a broken back and trying to walk again. Being the change I want to see.

💡🦾🖥️ Hey it's a NE tech thread! 💡🦾🖥️

People have asked which North East digital tech companies I mentioned on today's Digi Drive launch - firms across the region which have been innovating as a response to the pandemic. There are no doubt countless examples but here's a few:

Teesside 3D Visualisation, interactive digital media and digital consultation pioneers @Animmersion caught my eye in April when the team launched virtual, interactive events tech. businesscloud.co.uk/news/north-eas…

Next up was leading no-code, drag & drop enterprise app builder @nutshellapps which is helping @networkrail go paperless! thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/18696194.…

Sticking with the rail industry, Gateshead AI and social linguistic champs @word_nerdy has surfaced issues with social distancing for rail companies. Check out their tech here: wordnerds.ai

Next up we've got the Quevel mobile app developed by Stockton software supremeos @sapere_software. The app shows users how full a shop or business is at a given time of the day - very handy for the more vulnerable social-distancers amongst us especially!

In keeping with digital shopping, albeit in a *slightly* different manner, we recently Newcastle's cloud-based 3D visualisation heavyweight @ZeroLight partner with Lucid Motors to reshape how the world buys cars. Pretty cool, check it out: zerolight.com/news/press-rel…

Turning attention back to Stockton #Teesside - @TechnologyLucid launched a super-interesting app (Worktraq) to improve real time, workplace efficiency across multiple sectors. thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/18680110.…

Next: healthcare. The NW has a history of #healthtech innovation, Newcastle Uni and efforts from @NorthstarVent have done great work to further our identity here for a long time. So it was a pleasure to talk about IOT visionaries @Floki_Health 's traction! netimesmagazine.co.uk/news/new-addit…

In the same sector, NCL one to watch @changinghealth has made great impact during the pandemic. The NHS chose the company to develop its Healthy Living Service, supporting 3.4million people with Type 2 diabetes in the UK. Especially important at present. changinghealth.com

When we're thinking about #tech being used for good, I had to mention @reciteme @RossLinnett. This is a company truly passionate about accessibility. Check out its Coronavirus pledge here: 👏reciteme.com/news/recite-me…

Finally it's amazing to live in a region where things like @FoodandDrinkNE exist. The org proved a great example in helping nondigital firms get online and remain competitive, helping the NE's food&drink industry (and its awesome independents) survive! fadne.org
