Hey everyone! I’m Roseanna Dias an Inclusion Fellow on the @Bristol_BathRD programme. I’m a freelance creative producer, curator and facilitator interested in creativity and social change. I focus on co-design in film, media, digital tech and supporting young/bipoc/creatives

I'm taking over this feed on this fine drizzly weds, speaking about my #digitalplacemaking research. Check out a little written intro to my work about what it means to put care at the heart of dp processes... bristolbathcreative.org/article/spaces…

Along with the other fellows (GO CHECK THEM OUT!) I've been thinking about how creative applications of tech fosters connection between people + places in our local areas. These places might be physical or digital, or a hybrid mix of both. It’s been a deep dive over the last yr…

I've also been exploring how #creativetechnology can help us re/connect to ourselves and create new spaces for ourselves - spaces which centre care and rest - and which go against the dominant narratives and structures which often shape (consciously or unconsciously) our lives

For me, this has meant speaking to + dreaming with creative #changemakers at the intersection of art, social justice, inclusion + technology, especially Black + POC makers + thinkers ☺️ People like @EuellaIsis @malizahofficial @staceeexD @JosieGyasi @YSM8events @RababGhazoul

A lot has shifted + changed this year for many of us. Doing this research has been no different... It's been a J.O.U.R.N.E.Y I started my fellowship asking qs about remodelling Bristol’s digital infrastructure to serve bipoc, in particular creatives and people working for change

I wanted to think about digital interventions which could help us do bigger, louder work through increased platforming, connectivity and entrepreneurship ... Obvs Instagram came up time and time again and I did some serious reflecting on this part of digital space/culture

This by @whitepube poked my #digitalplacemaking thinking A LOT. What does it mean to develop representation in digital (creative) space as bipoc? What happens when our cultural capital is coopted/commercialised/weaponised? 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠?soundcloud.com/thewhitepube/t…

With the murder to George Floyd sparking a new wave of uprisings through #BlackLivesMatter for many bipoc our relationship w digital platforms like Insta shifted again - its not a new phenomenon but was esp intense because of the 'white revelation' around us...

Many of us needed a time out... spaces/places/moments to get away + just be... it felt like again the digital spaces/places and relationships we have + the way its all set up serves to KEEP. US. DOWN. KEEP. US. 'ON'. PRODUCING. FEEDING THE SYSTEM. What would it mean to flip this?
