In the New Yorker article linked below, @rickhasen made this statement. Rick, do you see the parties actually prepared to do this? If the Dems, Libertarians, Greens, Unaffiliated candidates would actually exercise their rights, the problem would be mostly solved. 1/

3/ We must not act helpless. These are OUR elections and we have all rights to insist on full transparency for counting every vote. We must convince members of the press, candidates and parties that it is a patriotic duty to oversee our elections with meaningful scrutiny.
4/ Choosing to blindly trust the process to be a "good American" is not being a good American. It is our duty to oversee the election and document both the good and the discrepancies, and insist on correction of discrepancies on the spot---which creates a defensible election.
5/ With lots of witnesses as to the fairness and accuracy of the election, it ensures a defensible election. We need to be sure that we exercise our full rights to be witnesses and insist on active observation from the press as well.
