๐ŸŽ WORRIED ABOUT RIZQ? ๐Ÿ’ต๐Ÿ’ด๐Ÿ’ฐ

Do you sometimes wake up worried about your RIZQ? We all do. What then should we do?

The basic principle regarding provision (rizq) & related matters of this world is to make effort and hold unto means by taking measures. (Al-akhdzu bil asbaab)!

Allah The Most High says:

"It is He who made the earth tame for you - so walk among its slopes and eat of His provision - and to Him is the resurrectionโ€ [al-Mulk 67:15].

Imam ibn Katheer (RH) said in his Tafseer, that Ibn โ€˜Abbaas, Mujaahid, Qataadah, and as-Saddi (RH) said:

The meaning of โ€œIts slopesโ€ is, the earth's different regions, mountain paths and areas.

So, inorder to earn Rizq (sustenance), one cannot just sit down and pray for wealth. Rather, one has to travel around, hold unto means, work hard, and go through hardships of all kinds.

The Hadith of the similitude of a bird, narrated by Umar Ibn Al-Khattaab (RA) explains this concept further.

The Messenger of Allah (blessings & peace of Allah be upon him) said: โ€œIf you were to put your trust in Allah as you should, you would be given provision like the birds:

they go out hungry in the morning and come back with full bellies in the evening.โ€

Reported by Imam Ahmad in his Musnad & classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani and Shuโ€˜ayb al-Arnaโ€™oot.

If we closely study this Hadith, it begins with putting trust in Allah (Tawakkul), then it

explains further the general principle of looking for sustenance, which is taking action. The bird leaves its nest early in the morning, trusting Allah & head east, west, south or north with an empty stomach. But it returns in the evening with a full stomach.

This is exactly what we should all learn as a rule. Tawakkul doesn't mean laziness. It doesn't mean, you just sit down or work very little and then expect Allah to provide you a cooked meal on your table. Rather, Tawakkul means, while you know that only Allah provides, you must

wake up early, work very hard and then rely on Allah for the rest. Many times, it is our laziness that pulls us back. It is our poor understanding of the concept of Tawakkul, and the difference between Tawakkul and Tawaakul that results to our sorry state in affairs of life.

While Tawakkul means trusting in Allah wholeheartedly at the same time putting in all your efforts to achieve your set goals, Tawaakul means not doing anything & falsely waiting for everything to come to you.

Islaam doesn't encourage laziness.
