Issues on which next #SCOTUS justice will prove pivotal: separation of powers; scope of Free Exercise Clause and "tension" w/ Establishment Clause; Free Speech; breadth of Second Amendment; criminal procedure in the age of surveillance; scope of deference to regulatory agencies 1

Property rights and especially regulatory takings; rights of states vis-a-vis the federal government; scope of Congressional power to regulate commerce and of course scope of reproductive rights. People suggesting delay don't know the number and importance of big disputes. 2

Originalists --simply put, people who believe in the Constitution and in limited government, who prize freedom and liberty-- have been taking it on the chin for 33 years...since Judge Bork. They have elected four GOP presidents and one moderate Democrat. one left Democrat. 3

The Center-Right was often disappointed by Justices O'Connor and Kennedy and always by Souter. Some, not me but some, by Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Gorsuch --I still think the Chief's Obamacare decision was correct and brilliant, and Bostock, well, I understand it. 4

Point is, after 33 years of waiting, we want, and are involved in politics largely if not primarily to see the Constitution applied. We'd like six justices who reject "living constitution" nonsense. This is why @realDonaldTrump and @SenateGOP must move quickly. 5

People who want originalism to rule the Courts, and the Congress and @POTUS to do their jobs and not punt to the courts and the administrative state demand the vacancy be filled by an originalist, and now. @realDonaldTrump, @senatemajldr, @LindseyGrahamSC and @SenateGOP get it. 6

That's why the #SCOTUS nominee will receive hearings and a vote before the election, and why the entire election should turn on that and who is better equipped to confront the CCP of China. How we govern ourselves and how we protect the nation are really the two biggest issues. 7
