Here is the reason that I *want* Trump to win, despite being a total liberal. Trump is the sole reason that Canada started turning into a tech hub. 5 years ago, tech/IT and others played a minor role in the economy and we were dependent on oil.
Now after Trump won, his policies slowly started moving American workers and companies into Canada. Then, starting this year, Trump's policies intensified. This lead to an acceleration of this trend. Now, American people and investments are POURING across the border to Canada.
Now we have the 2 big US global banks Citi and Morgan Stanley. Citi bank getting big in Toronto and her eis Morgan Stanley, discussing how Montreal is now "the place to be". This is Big Tech leaving NYC and switching to Montreal.
And there is Deloitte/Ernst & Young from the UK. The former now building a huge new center in Vancouver and the latter has it's new giant office in Toronto. Now Accenture is growing big too! Its quickly growing enough to turn Canada into the new Global banking and finance center.
Montreal seems to be growing the game development scene big enough to become the world's biggest gaming tech hub. AI and global finance too. While Vancouver is much the same. Toronto is simply becoming a huge tech/IT/and global finance hub, even Indian business is choosing it.
The biggest tech companies in the world are now using Canada as hubs. Amazon, Infosys, Microsoft, IBM, Nokia, Ebay, Mastercard, Airbnb, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, Ubisoft, EA games, MCAFEE, kpmg, Tata, Synopsys, Dell, Huawei, Ericsson, Oracle, SAP, Apple, Paypal, and loads more.
The list of global tech/IT/finance firms moving work to Canada would appear as long as Santa's list, a Christmas present from Trump to Canada! In this global crisis, each new tech job is a Christmas present to Canada's economy and so are the immigrants who help urgently fill them
So my prediction is that, if Trump wins (which appears very likely), Silicon valley will move to Canada, turbo boosting our tech scene. For this to happen, many Americans will need to move with these companies because staffing them will require lots of new immigrants to Canada.
Once this happens, our melting pot of American, European, Asian, and Arab immigrant workers will turn Canada into the new global tech/finance superpower with Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa, Waterloo, Montreal and Halifax hosting a multi-million strong workforce in these sectors.
Getting there won't be hard. Before all this, Canada was already listed as the second best place to live, despite small countries like Sweden and Norway typically having advantages over bigger ones. Business environment is top notch. Now in covid, we are ready to draw in the
momentum of people/business from all around the world, moving to Canada. Top qualified people from anywhere from Muslim places like Malaysia, Tunisia, and Turkey to German/french/Italian professionals, and loads of Asian from S KR/JP/China are bringing lots of biz over to Canada.
Canada is 'poaching' all the tech talent it can pull from countries like Israel and Nigeria too. At this rate, they won't be tech hubs anymore because Canada is pulling them in faster than it can produce new graduates for it's local scene.
I extrapolated my flight data on where flights are arriving from, and subtracting likely returning Canadian tourist numbers, I have calculated that 18,700 new permanent immigrants arrive each day, not including overland arrivals, which means it is actually higher than that.
Official data from spring this year suggested over half a million people/mo moved to Canada. My data now suggests 561,000/mo currently. So looks like it is correct. We are adding over half a million professionals to Canada's population PER MONTH. No wonder our economy is so good!
I watch video of neighborhoods in Toronto, every single place in Toronto has cranes going up in range of sight. No surprise. We are actually taking in so many new workers than they have to tear stuff down and build new R.E. for them, just about everywhere in Toronto.
