A complaint was received at the Office of the Drugs Inspector, Palakkad that a person called Muhammed Ali was treating patients without proper qualification at manoor, nearby keralassery, palakkad. Complaint also specified that Allopathy drugs were mixed with herbs and given.
Based on the complaint, a preliminary investigation was conducted by the Inspectors of Palakkad and it was learned the accused was dealing with ayurvedic drugs also. Hence an assistance was requested from the drugs inspector(ayu)Ernakulam. Based on the preliminary inputs that the
accused was a quack, The assistance of the DMO (Ayu) was also sought. An combined operation was carried out by Dr. Sreedhar, Drugs Inspector (Ayu), Ernakulam, Shri. Naveen K.R & Bijin E.N, Drugs Inspectors, Palakkad along with DMO (Ayu) Dr. Shibu on 24-09-2020 afternoon.
On investigation at the premises it was understood that the accused person was a quack. No allopathy drugs were found, However ayurvedic drugs,herbs were found stored in the premises. On the Complaint by the DMO, Police came &seized the drugs and arrested the accused for quackery
The combined operation was overseen by Sasi, ADC Thrissur and supported by the timely inputs from Vinayan, Drugs Inspector IB.
