Being a Sankaracharya in @KanchiMatham is not a showy position but tremendous responsibilities. He needs to perform 3kala puja lasting for 6-7hrs everyday besides looking after the adminstrn of the organztn. Needs to give patient hearing to all devotees &offer dharmik solutions.

300days ago when Ramjanmabhumi kumbhabhishekam happened on 22nd Jan24, Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swamigal of @KanchiMatham organized a 'danda' krama parayanam (1of the 8vikrti pathas of Rigveda) as a ShrutiSamarpana to Kodandarama. Vidyarthis of Pazhur patadinamalar.com/news/tamil-nad… sala who all are ghanapatigals chanted the entire Rigveda in dandakrama method lasted for 300days. On completion of parayanam they were honoured with Sambhavana & title Vikrtijna thru a certificate.
Gurus were honoured with 1 lakh.
Today we've 150 ghanapatigals in Rigveda.

When Jagadguru Sri.Jayendra Saraswathi Sankaracharya Swamigal was arrested in 2004, he was kept in Vellore Jail. Strict restrictions were laid by Govt for his visitors & many were denied permission to visit Acharya.

Swargiya R.Sankaranarayana Srautin (1923-1994) was a great scholar of repute both in Samaveda's kauthuma sakha, Vedabhashyam & Drāhyāyayana Srauta sutram attached w that Sakha. He learnt Samaveda from his father&elder brother in Tiruvanaikkaval in his Childhood & later qualified to be a Hindi teacher also due to poor patronage for Vedaadhyayins then. He taught Hindi in E.R.High school in Trichy for few years. Kanchi Mahaperiyava called him to matham & made him addhyapaka in matham's vedapatasala. Later he got a call from TTD.

Before heading towards KA&MH thru AP in 1978 by pādayātra, Mahaperiyava in 1977 started Shāstra Vākyārtha Sadas&held it every Guruvaram at 16pillar mandapam located inside Varadarajar temple in Vishnu Kanchi. 4-5 scholars used to participate regularly. It grew slowly. In 1993&95 It touched 30+ Vidvans of high quality headed by MM.SRK Sastrigal, Goda Subrahmanya Sastrigal,Sriperumpudur Sastrigal etc. All were doyens in all Shāstras.

In 1985-86 Mahaperiyava brought Ganga jalam from trivenisangamam, Prayagraj, U.P in 100+ copper cans & sent them to Gangaikondachozhapuram.
