I don't know what this is but it's fried and freshly hand made and sure to be delicious!
It's a fried dumpling made from sticky rice flour! Basically a super soft mochi with an incredibly crisp fried skin, filled with what I think is a sweet mung bean paste with just a slight hint of chili pepper. It's FANTASTIC.
There was also a savory version filled with ... I think it's bamboo, mushroom and chilies. Also awesome!
Passed by this beautiful shop full of metal work. The area of Bangkok that my office is in has a surprising amount of blacksmiths. There's always something interesting going on in every block of this city.
What a beautiful site. Glad I decided to walk the back streets today instead of taking a taxi or train.
The Cyberpunk sci-fi genre may have its roots in American cities like LA and Seattle, but the closest real life analogs have always been the mega cities of Asia where the future is constantly, violently smashing into the present without totally wiping out the past.
