"They have exposed our societies to diseases for which no immunity has yet developed."
Errr... we need to have encountered a disease in order to have had the opportunity to develop immunity to it.

So this does not make the emergence of new pathogens by this route any different to the emergence by any other route even though it may well be accelerating the rate of emergence of new pathogens

I also have a problem with the idea that simply coming into contact with more species is really that significant except perhaps because we have been living in man made protected zones with very little contact with wildlife for some time.

Hunter gatherers who live as we all did the greater part of human existence are opportunistic feeders and probably would have eaten at some stage most things that could be caught. We have no evidence they were struck down by annihilating epidemics.

The separation between tribes would probably have prevented the emergence of pandemics. The difference is that they didn't start farming animals intensively in stressful conditions with large mono cultures of single species side by side.@WeDontHaveTime #ClimateAction #ForNature

I think this is what is more to blame for the emergence of novel pathogens not just that we are eating a wider range of animals.
Now is the time to put Nature at the epicenter of everything we do.

Scrap all existing taxes and replace with a single natural Resource Tax collected at source and based on the Eco damage caused by their use and consumption plus UBI and a wealth tax.@WeDontHaveTime #ClimateAction #ForNature

Taxes change behavior fast

Feudal times did not have as much concentration of wealth as we have today. It is a monstrous control of finance we have now, serving no one positively in any way unless one percent is acceptable. @WeDontHaveTime #ClimateAction #ForNature

That control is absolute and the grip they have on the rest of us dominates us completely. The change will be very hard to come by if you are looking for something positive. Why would the controllers change anything??

Even with a vaccine you can do very little. It's the nature of a virus to mutate and resist, and it's in the nature of humanity to not ensure everyone gets one when one's available.
