The weather on my trip to gather samples of seawater was absolutely outstanding! The only thing was, there was a huge storm up in the Bearing Sea and the swell was huge, even though it’s was a crisp 37 deg and sunny.
The swells were comming south and going under the ship. Causing it to take some substantial rolls. Anything you didn’t have tide down was going to end up on the deck.
On the third day at sea. I was in my room listening to an episode of the Brothers of the serpent Podcast when an image of a dolphins 🐬 face flashed into my head and the sailors made an announcement that dolphins were on the port side of the ship.
I went out of my room up to the deck and looked down into the water to see about forty dolphins 🐬 gliding in the water with the ship. I didn’t know that dolphins did this?
So, when get back in port I will have to pack up all my stuff and clean my room. Here’s a photo of what my room on the ship looks like like: (this was when I first got on board in Hawaii)
It has a desk where I set up my laptop and I got my own bathroom, that’s just to the left in the photo.

It has a rowing machine bikes and a weight machine. I spent about two hours in here every day.
When I get back home I will take all of the data that I have recorded and finish my doctorate thesis on the amount of micro plastics in the world’s oceans and how it has the potential to enter the human food chain.
