Fall/winter season is sweater season.

And there are a TON of different options out there.

Even with something simple like a crewneck sweater, you'd be surprised at the variety.

Here are just a few to consider:

Your standard fine knit merino wool sweater.

What I like about these guys is that they are easy to wear tucked OR untucked.

Merino wool also has natural anti-odor and temperature regulating properties.

A piece like this can be worn year round. Dressed up or casually.

You also have your raglan sleeve style crewnecks. This is where the sleeve extends in one piece fully to the collar.

These have a sportier look to them and are best worn casually with denim jeans and boots or sneakers.

You also have textured crewneck sweaters like cable knits.

These are PERFECT for those rugged pairings (jeans + boots) but they can be dressed up as well.

There are lots of other texture knit crew sweaters - waffle knits and rib knits are also great.

I love these textured options because they are an easy way to add some visual interest to your looks without having to resort to bold colors or patterns.

Then there are cashmere crew sweaters aka the luxe option.

The advantage with cashmere is that it's lightweight but can keep you plenty warm.

These sweaters look really good when dressed up with some nicer slacks and dress shoes.

And then as we head in the winter season there are your typical Donegal style sweaters.

These have a characteristic "flecked" appearance. The drawback with these is they really are a fall/winter sweater and can't really be worn outside that context.

As you can see, a crewneck sweater isn't just a crewneck sweater.

Lots of options to consider.
