Fall/winter season is sweater season.

And there are a TON of different options out there.

Even with something simple like a crewneck sweater, you'd be surprised at the variety.

Here are just a few to consider:
Your standard fine knit merino wool sweater.

What I like about these guys is that they are easy to wear tucked OR untucked.

Merino wool also has natural anti-odor and temperature regulating properties.

A piece like this can be worn year round. Dressed up or casually. Image
You also have your raglan sleeve style crewnecks. This is where the sleeve extends in one piece fully to the collar.

These have a sportier look to them and are best worn casually with denim jeans and boots or sneakers.

You also have textured crewneck sweaters like cable knits.

These are PERFECT for those rugged pairings (jeans + boots) but they can be dressed up as well.

There are lots of other texture knit crew sweaters - waffle knits and rib knits are also great.

I love these textured options because they are an easy way to add some visual interest to your looks without having to resort to bold colors or patterns. Image
Then there are cashmere crew sweaters aka the luxe option.

The advantage with cashmere is that it's lightweight but can keep you plenty warm.

These sweaters look really good when dressed up with some nicer slacks and dress shoes.

And then as we head in the winter season there are your typical Donegal style sweaters.

These have a characteristic "flecked" appearance. The drawback with these is they really are a fall/winter sweater and can't really be worn outside that context. Image
As you can see, a crewneck sweater isn't just a crewneck sweater.

Lots of options to consider.

Most men’s polo game is weak.

Too many shiny, poly-blend “performance” polos guys try to pass off as casual wear when they belong on the golf course.

I see them everywhere.

Here are 5 options that are 10x better and all under $65👇 Image
The Open Collar Retro Inspired Polo

Classic option. Clean, elegant design. A bit of texture in a 100% cotton knit style.👌

The Zip Style Polo

This is a more modern take on the polo. The zip placket offers a very sleek, contemporary look. Would look especially sharp paired with some neutral slacks and dress footwear.

The polos you see below are from Zara. Image

How to Look Dangerously Handsome (Even at Home)

Your standards shouldn't disappear just because you’re lounging.

I get that comfort is a priority when at home.

Here’s how you can do it without sloppy...👇 Image
Swap the baggy athletic hoodies and logoed tees for a plain, cozy sweatshirt.

French Terry cotton is preferred.

Why?

Because it's comfortable, cozy, hard wearing and will break-in over time. It's also easy to care for as well. Wash in cold water, hang dry.

Love the two tone design on this one, complete with signature "V" insert at the neck. This one is in a midweight fabric as well.Image
Another great option here is a waffle knit cotton thermal.

Comfortable and just as easy to wear as a sweatshirt. Nice alternative for those living in warmer climates and don't need a heavy sweatshirt but still want something more substantial than a basic tee.

Great in between option.Image

You wear jeans.

Every guy does.

But 90% of men are wearing the wrong ones or wearing them the wrong way.

Here are the 5 mistakes to avoid if you want your denim to actually look good.👇 Image
Mistake #1: The Wash

If you don’t own a pair of true dark denim yet… it’s time to course correct.

And no, “dark denim” isn’t the same thing.

I’m talking about that deep, inky, indigo saturated wash with zero distressing, whiskering, fading, or fake “aging.”

The kind of denim that instantly sharpens your entire fit.

See the example below. You want the pair on the far right.

Bonus points if you go with Japanese or Italian denim fabric.

Extra bonus points if the denim happens to be selvedge.

I’m not a big fan of crash dieting…

But if you went a little overboard on summer vacation and need to quickly drop some body fat and get back on track, it’s worth looking into a CLASSIC protocol from Lyle McDonald: the Protein Sparing Modified Fast (PSMF).

Here’s how it works...Image
I should mentioned Lyle first published this protocol in 2005 and then updated it in 2008...keep in mind this is a rapid fat loss plan, it's meant as a short-term kickstart, not a long-term diet.

You're supposed to switch to a more sustainable approach after 10-12 days.
Here's how it works:

✔️You eat a high protein diet – anywhere between 1-2g of protein per pound of body weight per day. Focus here is on LEAN sources - think chicken breast, tuna, shrimp, whey protein, egg whites, non fat Greek yogurt etc.

✔️Supplement with fish oil – 1g of of EPA/DHA is plenty

✔️Take a basic multi vitamin/multimineral supplement

✔️Include some non starchy veggies for fiber and to keep hunger somewhat at bay

I've always maintained that you don’t need deep pockets to look dangerously handsome.

Forget designer labels. What you need is a plan.

Here’s exactly what I’d do to make it happen - step by step...👇 Image
Step 1 - the obvious: get in great shape. This is non-negotiable. The 80/20 of stellar style lies in the condition of your physique.

And if you're clueless here, pick up my free 39 page guide that covers everything you need to know to build a physique to maximize your style👉secure.wellbuiltstyle.com/style-guideImage
Step 2 - pick up a handful of inexpensive, PLAIN Supima or Pima cotton tees.

H&M's premium lines makes a great, 100% Pima cotton tee that is on sale right now for $15 (affiliate): bit.ly/4jRxQ7j

Why Supima or Pima cotton? Because it's the highest quality cotton you can get your hands on (other than Sea Island cotton). It's an extra long staple fiber known for its softness, durability, superior drape and color retention properties.Image

A plain T-shirt is the ultimate test of your style. If you can make a basic tee look great, you can make almost anything look great.

But what does it take to OWN the plain tee look? And if you’re not there yet, how do you get there?

Here’s your simple roadmap 👇 Image
Step 1: Assess Where You Stand

Before you upgrade your T-shirt game, you need to measure up—literally.

The key metric?

Your DROP measurement—the difference between your chest and waist circumference.

How to Measure:

📏 Chest: Wrap a tailor’s tape around the widest part of your chest (nipple line). Arms relaxed, no deep inhales, no flaring lats.

📏 Waist: Measure just above your belly button—about mid-point between your rib cage and hip bone. No sucking in.

🎯 The goal? A drop measurement of 8-10 inches.

Example:

✅ 32” waist → 40-42” chest = Aesthetic V-taper physique

Hit these numbers, and any plain T-shirt will look ELITE on you.Image
Step 2: Get LEAN

Most guys don’t struggle with not enough muscle—they struggle with too much body fat.

That means cutting down until you hit that 8-10” drop.

Fat loss is SIMPLE:

✔ Eat in a calorie deficit (burn more than you consume)
✔ Prioritize whole & minimally processed foods
✔ Get enough protein (1g per lb of ideal body weight)
✔ Hit your fiber & healthy fats (10-14 grams of fiber per 1000 calories consumed, and keep saturated fat intake below 10% of your total calories)
✔ Stay consistent

Need a starting point?

Use this calorie calculator to give you an idea of the type of deficit you need for fat loss: tinyurl.com/425w9yrj
