Heartfelt condolences! Knew General Rahim as a senior 4 Balochi, met him a few times at Reunions. Knew General Naseer Akhtar well from CCH where he was in the Ist Year FSc and I and his brother Munir Akhtar buddies in the 8th Class. Muzaffar Usmani was my coursemate: 36th PMA 2/

2/ Of all 3 I was closest to General Naseer Akhtar, or 'Naseer Thee' as he was called in School. Munir Akhtar's nickname was 'Mochi' (mine was Chakki for my fat behind!): I lost contact with Mochi in about 1967. He moved to the U.S. if I recall. Gen. Naseer's younger 3/

3/ brother was the lovely man Naeem Akhtar who was Wing Commander Aurangzeb Wing when I joined school. If I recall he was killed in the '65 war in the rank of Captain? If anyone remembers better do tweet please. The memories are flooding back. These were the Officers and 4/

4/ Gentlemen of the Army I knew and was a proud part of. They were not Pizza sellers and kidnappers and torturers...5/

5/ Neither would they sully their reputations by being seen in the same photograph with #Yahoos and #Goondas like #ChheedaTalli aka @ShkhRasheed let alone being buddsy wuddsy with him!!

6/ I should not have sullied this thread by including #ChheedaTalli's name in it. However on to happier memories. As to nicknames, like all boarding schools virtually everyone had one unless one was completely colourless and drab! So we had a 'Champion', his younger brother 7/

7/ was 'Khota' (No not #Selected @ImranKhanPTI), and the next brother 'Lidd' - yes donkey-shit😂🤣A cousin of theirs was 'Makkhi'! Incidentally Major 'Champion' was a wonderful Senior and remained my friend for a long time. The poor man lost a leg in a freak accident with a 8/

8/ tonga but never lost his humour, his big laugh, and great kindness for his Juniors. I recall that I met him once at his house in Islamabad and @KhawajaMAsif, who is also from Cadet College, was there too? So, nicknames: There were three seniors called Terry, Goli, and Atiq 9/

9/ who let out (!) at different times, each in a different tune. So the chant when any of them were within earshot went like: 'Terry TIYOON; Goli PHAEYNN; Atiq CHI
😂😜Of course Terry who was from HasanAbdal itself, and senior and bigger than me beat me up at least once! 10/

10/ Another great Senior was Lt. Gen. Iftikhar Ali Khan, Ch. Nisar's brother. Very pleasant, and kind man, who and I remained Senior and Junior friends for long years...
