When I wrote this tweet, I didn't know that 31 days after, I'll have to be calling senior police officers to come to my rescue. The harm that SARS is doing to our youths is far more than the good the section was created for. @MBuhari and @ProfOsinbajo need to do something

Being the 1st of October [a public holiday] and in the mood of celebrating the 60th anniversary of 🇳🇬 independence, I took my wife out along with three of her brothers. Another friend joined us and we had a nice time. The 3 brothers and the senior friend then headed home at Ajah.

My wife and I left and headed home. By the way, the senior friend of theirs was in a private business while the eldest of the 3 brothers works in a multinational company. We're almost home when we got a call that SARS stopped them around the 3rd round about [Lekki-Epe expressway]

They said they asked for their ID cards and the two elderly ones produced their cards while the younger two didn't have their ID cards with them. Before you know it, they have been told to come down and marched into their own vehicle. What nonsense? Innocent boys?

Hearing this, I turned back while I made a call to a senior police officer. Imagine the thoughts running through my mind: Will they take these innocent boys to the station? Will they start beating them or harassing them? Will they lock them up? All these to these gentle ones?

The officer said I should call him when I get there. As we were going, we were calling them to avoid them taking any unfavourable decision against them. Shortly after we passed the second round about, we called again and we were told that they had given them some money...

...And they have released them. Now, imagine if I don't know someone. Imagine if it was just those two boys that were alone? This is the way many people have been unjustifiably arrested and detained because our President and V. President have not done something to the police.

The truth be told, what will take HE @MBuhari to stop this Police menace? Stopping this citizens harassment does not require the NASS hence you can't put the blame on them. Stopping this malady does not require huge financial resources hence you can't say there's no money.

I am very sure there are many people who voted for this government and have suffered in the hands of police due to this unnecessary harassment. Is this the way to pay them back for their support for your government and party? If we are battling insecurity due to criminals,...

...should the police pose insecurity threat to us as well? These are experiences that frustrate you as a Nigerian. It happens everyday to people but because it hasn't happened to you doesn't make it a false reality. How many remember this video done as a result of frustration?

Those who are to watch over us have become a threat to us.

Sirs, YE @MBuhari and @ProfOsinbajo you have 968 days to the end of your tenure. The sun that is still outside can still dry clothes.

Police reform and discipline is a low hanging fruit. You only need executive powers.

Sirs, YE @MBuhari and @ProfOsinbajo

If you don't deal with this police menace and indiscipline especially the attitude of SARS tormenting poor and innocent citizens, it will destroy your administration and it will haunt your party @OfficialAPCNg at the next general elections.

This is another experience of someone. Same way, same story and we think we are normal?

I didn't even know that @ChiefOjukwu spoke about the same thing 6 days ago. I appreciate when supporters tell truth to their principals. It shows moral rectitude. The President and his Vice need to do something quickly to this menace.
