Overcoming the challenges posed by covid-19 pandemic, MahaMetro continued its work & other activities through last 5 months after 1st & 2nd lockdowns. It followed the SOP to ensure health & safety of the staff & workers at the sites.

Showing dedication, discipline & commitment in face of pandemic, labour strength at construction sites in Nagpur & Pune has reached 10,000 from 4,000 before 1st lockdown. Further, MahaMetro has achieved some remarkable feats minimising impact of pandemic on projects' timelines.

In Nagpur, 4 new metro stations & their successful inspection by CMRS have been completed. Further, 3.5Km long multi-layer transport system, the first of its kind in the country, has been finished in collaboration with NHAI, to achieve tremendous cost, time & space efficiencies.

Also, a 65m long & 400MT heavy, Bowstring Girder across railway track was launched in 4 hour long block, a daunting task even in normal times. A 600m long subway under railway track, part of NHAI work but an important connectvity of metro to vast population has got completed.

In Pune, underground tunnelling work continued without much interruption throughout this period. First break through was achived at Civil Court station after 3.5Km tunneling. Seven Launching Girders restarted immediately after 2nd lockdown minimising the interruption.

Station works in Priority Sections were restarted immediately. After the 2nd lockdown, two stations are nearing completion. Heartiest congratulations to Team MahaMetro!

Keep up this spirit!
