I remember being invited for an interview in Victoria island, the advert stated “A very irresistible offer”
I was hyper excited! Wore my favorite fit. The reception was exceptional! I said to myself “Mojirade oti arrive”
I got there so early, about extra 1hr b4 the time because Lagos traffic, to avoid shalaye...
After waiting for about 30mins at the reception, a young man in his mid 30’s I presume, approached me and told me to come with him.
So I was taken to a quiet room and offered a seat.
5mins later the interview started,,,
A *Doctor later came in to interview me* the man earlier was the *HR*
So I a Theatre Nurse, was being interviewed by a Doctor & HR. They both confirmed I seem really experienced...
Anyway, time to discuss the *irresistible offer*
So the Doctor asked me, how soon are you willing to start, I said i was free at the moment, so the coming week would be fine.
And then she asked how much I’d like them to pay me *
Firstly, I asked them what the shift was like, she said 5/7 12hrs
Asked them their own offer*
And then the HR said; 75k
I almost screamed* Are you mad*
But calmly asked, eventho he could read the disgust on my face; 75k? For 5/7 12hours! I told him my offer, 180k
He replied me with, even the oldest nurse here with 8years experience is not earning that.
Then they started the; you’re going to learn a lot here, bla bla bla.
He asked if that was my final? I said they can call me back if they can offer anything above 140k.
Well, I’m still waiting for their call 😂
Dear employers, when recruiting for any Nursing post, let a Senior Nurse do the interview, with support from the hospital Manager maybe.
I don’t think it’s right having the HR/MD on the interview team. Those people always hating and spewing trash.
