#COVID19 is like a casino. If you play long enough, when your luck runs out, the house always wins.
Folks, the USA and Kentucky are in for a world of hurt this autumn if we don’t pull ourselves together real fast.
1/10
The President of the United States has:
-the most powerful political office,
-the most secure house, helicopter, plane, etc., and
-some of the smartest scientists...
In the entire world.
The President of the United States is hospitalized with #COVID19.
2/10
The President of the United States and
-His wife,
-Many of his closest advisors,
-Multiple members of Congress, and
-Others...
Have all contracted #COVID19.
We are witnessing a #COVID19 cluster and possible super-spreading event unfold among our senior federal officials.
3/10
Packing people close together in
-Confined spaces,
-Without masks
Is like betting our house and entire 401k on snake eyes at the craps table. We might get lucky on occasion, but 35 times out of 36 we’re gonna lose it all.
4/10
#COVID19
-Doesn’t care what we believe,
-Relentlessly pursues humans in which to multiply, and
-Preys without remorse on the vulnerable, disadvantaged, unlucky, and naive.
When we ignore these realities, we add to our suffering while the virus laughs at our foolishness.
5/10
Hopefully everyone w/ #COVID19 has a full recovery. But not everyone is so lucky. Kentucky data shows for people with #COVID19:
- 7.7% are hospitalized,
- 2.2% end up in the ICU, and
- 1.7% die.
Mortality increases w/ age - only 9% under 60 die. Good odds. Ready to play?
6/10
Kentucky’s running hot. Our #COVID19 map is ugly.
With 1 day left, we already set a new weekly record for new cases for the 2nd week in a row.
The house is winning and that really stinks ‘cause when cases go up, more folks get hospitalized, and more folks die.
7/10
There are many tragedies in this.
One glaring tragedy is that it didn’t have to be this way.
We are waging a foolish battle w/ ourselves, not the virus, and that’s killing Americans in droves.
Other democracies figured it out. Sadly, our nation has not met the challenge.

So, #TeamKentucky and fellow Americans:
- Is it better to die than wear a cotton mask?
- If I don’t want to wear a mask and don’t die, is it ok if others die for my choice?
- 1 in 10 persons with #COVID19 appear to have long-term symptoms; do I care if I’m one of them?
9/10
Fundamentally, we are good people and want to be ‘good guys’ in our own lives.
So, #TeamKentucky and fellow Americans:
- Be kind,
- Love your neighbor,
- Save a life…
Wear a mask. 😷
Stay >6 feet away. 📏
Wash your hands. 🤲
Stay home if sick. 🏡
Be heroes. 🦸
