from yesterday, netlab's started an hourly 44-part interview series with fans of individual kusoge nlab.itmedia.co.jp/nl/series/2152…🇯🇵 they just reached #15, check the thread for a list of what's been covered so far
the "kusoge" profiled by netlab so far:
Spekunker
Wonder Project J2
Grandia Xtreme
Radiata Stories
YIIK
Tail of the Sun
Bushido Blade 2
Zunou Senkan Galg
Jan Sangoku Musou
Bouncing DVD: The Game
LSD
Atlantis no Nazo
Phantasy Star Universe
Tokimeki Memorial 3
The Quiet Man
apparently Wonder Project J2's negative rep is mostly due to this commercial that paints it as a super-pandering galge, so the thrust of the article is mostly just explaining what the game actually is nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2465089🇯🇵
the guy they spoke to about LSD wasn't kidding about how much he likes it: he bought the game on PS Archives in 2011 and has been playing, researching & regularly discovering new events ever since, his video series is over 700 episodes long 🇯🇵
the former pro mahjong player's argument for Jan Sangoku Musou is interesting: the game has a rep for ludicrous "cheating" AI but he argues that it's not unfair, just extremely high-level, and bc the standard of play has risen in 15 years, ppl ought to go back and try it nowadays
(btw, that's a Koei mahjong game with the cast of Dynasty Warriors 5, released for PS2 and later PSP & DS)
today's "kusoge":
Freedom Wars
Natsuiro High School
Mega Man X6
Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter
Xenosaga Episode II
Karateka
Hoshi wo Miru Hito
The Bouncer
Master of Monsters: Disciples of Gaia
Kowloon's Gate
Driving Emotion Type-S
Magician's Dead
El Shaddai
The Evil Within
(reminder, these articles are interviews with fans of the games in question who are prosecuting the argument for why they're fun & defending them against accusations of kusoge, so don't get too caught up by the designation)
"kusoge" (30-40, late to this, sorry)
Dark Souls II
Major Wii: Perfect Closer
Crayon Shin-Chan 2: Daimaou no Gyakushuu
Kiteretsu Daihyakka
Chiki Chiki Machine Mou Race

Hokuto no Ken AC
Fate/Unlimited Codes
....and the final "kusoge", 41-44
Jaseiken Necromancer
Sword of Sodan
Relics: Ankoku Yousai
...and an article about games for which the designation kusoge seemed super subjective, even by their very liberal standard: Mordhau, Shiren the Wanderer, Mad Max
