Bari Weiss: countless people all over America are telling me about how anti-whiteness has gone mad.
Everyone: Should be easy to produce some compelling examples.
Bari: this white lady was told she was not allowed to rap at a library orientation.
Some people can’t tell the difference between being persecuted and being saved from making a fool of themselves.
Weiss said the rapping librarian "is turning down a settlement that would have given her a much easier way out"
Smith College disputing this saying she "demanded an exceptionally large sum in exchange for dropping a legal claim."
Shaw has picked up more than 200K from GoFundMe.
People have treated the Weiss presenting the Jodi Shaw story as journalism.
But an actual journalist would have shown some credulity about the claims, contacted other parties, done some investigating.
Instead, Weiss promoted a story that fits with her pre-existing worldview.
We don't know what happened at Smith. We just have an account of an unhappy former employee that has been treated as factual by those who are primed to believe the universities are against them.
Same people will also say you can't believe the MSM, with its factcheckers & whatnot.
Shaw's own account includes that she
1. disliked how others talked about race
2. was not allowed to rap at an orientation
3. made an internal complaint the university rejected
Not a promising basis for a lawsuit. Indeed 2 & 3 are red flags that people who agreed with 1 ignored.
