Today I would like to talk about a neglected vaccine, the Soberana II. Is a conjugated vaccine absolutely UNIQUE.

The same principle, we need to present some virus hallmark to the immune system, here the Cuban researchers chose the RBD ( receptor binding domain) Why? because the vast majority of neutralizing antibodies from recovered subjects were against RBD.

The Soberana vaccine is conjugated meaning the antigen ( RBD) is conjugated to an immunogenic protein the Tetanus toxoid. Why do we need to do that? Because the RBD perse is not immunogenic enough, therefore, is combined with a potent immunogenic molecule.

The combination of those two elements (antigen and adjuvant) trigger a complete immune response:

Currently, the Soberana II is in phase 3, the data are extremely promising and from the production point of view, this vaccine can be an excellent and cheap alternative to actual vaccines.
