/Zero Covidian @VeraEtches in lockstep with the team lockdown fear campaign. This time it's younger patients & tired health care workers. It certainly isn't because Ottawa hospitals are overloaded (down from C19 peak of 62 in Apr 2020). Not unusually overloaded then or now.
/I don't recall a time in Ottawa when there wasn't a periodic news story about overcrowded hospitals. If this is a staffing issue, @OttawaHealth has no one but themselves to blame for carrying on with test/trace/isolate for a low IFR endemic virus.
/If it is a long hospital stay issue because of LTC problems, again, OPH has no one to blame but themselves. They had all last spring, summer, fall & winter to work on surge space/resources for problematic LTC residences. Instead, they wasted time and money on test/trace/isolate
/As for the "younger people in the hospital" narrative, it doesn't reflect in OPH's current data, nor has Vera offered anything but anecdotes.
/...and if Toronto offers any indication on how team lockdown is fudging the numbers to build the ON lockdown narrative, we can safely assume it's a similar story in Ottawa.
/So what happens when you just throw caution to the wind and return to "old normal"? The Fisman death Tsunami is no doubt unleashed right?
/What about those Floridian #Covidiots? Surely the bodies must need to be stored in refrigerator trucks by now right?
/The home of the Sturgis superspreader event South-Dakota has never had any restrictions. Kristi Noam is practically Trump, right?
/What about those reckless Swedes? Look! Cases are through the roof! Climbing since early February! Scariants!
/Oh.
/Tell your politicians like @fordnation @celliottability @JohnTory @JimWatsonOttawa and public health officials like @VeraEtches & @epdevilla to stuff it. #No3rdLockdown #TakeOffYourMask
