Following up on reports of an OIS near MacArthur Park roughly an hour ago- there were active IG lives up until about 30 minutes ago.

Currently, the area around MacArthur Park is blocked off. There were IG lives of woman on the island area attacking wildlife that reported the woman had a gun.

I’ve elected not to link them as there is harmful and racist language as well as abusive language toward mentally ill.

Lots of onlookers as this is still a developing situation. Woman who was either shot or shot at (unclear) still in park.

LAPD surveying scene as woman is still here. Several officers occasionally drawing guns, PA system offering ambulance.

Woman and officers on pier area. Appears to be holding her arm off and on, there’s some red on it- unclear if this is from OIS gunshot.

Woman is not moving from pier- LAPD returns to behind one cruiser.

Woman taken into custody, and being told she’s “probably” being taken to hospital in ambulance.

Sergeant Preciado, stating reports of woman armed but no weapon in custody to his knowledge. Not able to confirm whether woman was hit or how many rounds discharged. Not able to confirm whether mental health response was on scene.

Seeing officers get into boats right now in lake around MacArthur Park. Area still has LAPD directing traffic and caution tape.
