1.Naira starts week at N410/$1 to the dollar
Naira started the week with a slight gain against the US Dollar at the investors and exporters window of the official currency market. However at the black market, naira exchanged at N482/$1
2.Uber and Bolt drivers in Nigeria protest over rising costs of fuel and inflation
Under the umbrella of the Professional E-hailing Drivers and Partners Association (PEDPA), Uber and Bolt drivers in Lagos and Abuja have begun a strike action.
The drivers are asking for the pricing to be reviewed as they are no longer reflective of the costs they put in. They also want the companies to reduce the commission charged on rides from 25% to 10%
3. Sanwo-Olu hails policeman who refused to be provoked despite unruly conduct of traffic offender
Gov. Sanwo-Olu has hailed ASP Erhator Sunday of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the police for being professional despite the unruly conduct of a traffic offender.
The Governor commended the cop for displaying a high level of decorum, self control, patience and professionalism in handling the provocation in the course of discharging his duties.
4. COVID-19: WHO Rejects Proof Of Vaccination For International Travel The WHO's emergency committee recommended on Monday that proof of vaccination not be required as a condition of international travel.
Independent experts said there was limited evidence on whether vaccination against Covid-19 reduces people's ability to transmit the virus and the persistent inequality in global vaccine distribution.
5. BUSINESS: No increase in petrol price in May, NNPC assures The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) says it will not increase the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit also known as petrol in May.
This came after a closed door meeting with Petroleum Transport Drivers (PTD), National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) and oil marketers in Abuja on Monday.

7. IMF, Nigeria to implement removal of petrol subsidies The FG and the IMF have agreed to implement deregulation of the oil industry downstream sector that will see the government withdraw from paying subsidy on petrol.
The agreement which followed conclusion of its Article IV consultation with Nigeria will equally end subsidy in the electricity sector by mid-2021
8. Zainab Ahmed: Governors wanted FG to borrow from CBN for March shortfall — but we said no The FG turned down the request by state governors to borrow from the CBN to augment the N50 Billion federation account allocation committee (FAAC) shortfall in March.
The Minister said that whenever there is a reduction in federal allocation, the federal government takes money from some reserv accounts, but in the case of March allocation which fell by N50 Billion, all state governments were asked to manage their resources.
9. FG admits revenues crashing, says Nigeria faces hard times The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, on Monday admitted that Nigeria's economy was facing a difficult time, saying states must improve their internally generated revenues.
"These are very difficult challenging times because revenues are low and the demand for expenditures are very high understandably because we have to keep intervening to make sure the pandemic is contained as well as the economic impact it has caused." - Zainab Ahmed
10. European Super League chairman: ‘We’re doing this to save football’ Real Madrid President, Florentino Perez said the move had been made because young people are "no longer interested in football" because of "a lot of poor quality games".
Perez further added the move was fast tracked by the coronavirus pandemic, which has led to matches being played behind closed doors.
