This thread begins day two of my Minneapolis uprising coverage. In a very short amount of time the verdict will be read in the Derek Chauvin case. Depending on what the jury decides, tonight could be insane. Wish me luck.

I’ll be outside the courthouse by the time the verdict is read in about an hour. See ya all on the other side, Minneapolis may have a long night.
Once again, wish me luck. I’ll be there to record all that I can.
Anyways. Going silent for a bit.
Crowd is starting to form. It’s not massive yet, but it is eerily quiet.
The crowd continues to grow. Small chants beginning now. Verdict to be read within 30 mins
Police have began shutting down certain streets.
Some pics of the situation around the court house. The crowd still grows, and there’s a ton of media.
Reports of cars leaving the city en mass (My Fox 9, local station). The crowd also chants “if George don’t get it, shut it down.”
Verdict expected to be handed down any moment now.
Internet is very bad here. Vids might be delayed. Took forever to upload just a few pics
Just counting down the moments until a verdict is read. Crowd is growing more vocal. Lots of chants.
Guilty of all charges. The crowd is celebrating. Now a March is taking to the streets. Internet here is atrocious. Unable to upload video
Minneapolis might see peace tonight. Already chants of going to Brooklyn Center, though.
The city erupts into celebrations and noise after Derek Chauvin found guilty of all charges.
People are trying to get the crowd to relocate to Brooklyn Center
The crowd celebrates as the verdicts are read
Celebratory car crash:
Hustlers gunna hustle. I can respect it. Make your easy money.
“Who’s streets, our streets”
A large March might begin:
“Native/Somali/Muslim/Trans/Black/Brown/Black Youth/Black Women/etc lives matter”
Crowd also chants that this is Native Land. 🙄
The black militia which worked tirelessly to keep the peace during my last night in Brooklyn Center has now showed up in Minneapolis. Huge props to these guys, they would rush in and shut down people throwing stuff or seeking violence.
The crowd doesn’t intend to follow curfew should one be set tonight.
It could be a long night yet. I’ll be boots on the ground for all of it.
Stepping aside for 20 mins. Need my backup battery charger from my hotel room. It wasn’t ready when the verdict was handed down. Coverage will resume in a bit

The most important tools I have on me. Energy, snack, and a battery charger.
Back at the March. Guy leading it says “they’re going to let us burn this whole motherfucker to the ground before they give us some systemic change.... so that’s what we need to do, get that systemic change, right...”
The crowd berates the Guard.
The size of the current crowd.
A picture from the March
While introducing two speakers from CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) the guy leading the chants got the massive crowd to start chanting “allahu akbar.”
That was weird.
Anyways the March is over. They are now telling people to go to George Floyd Square or the police station in Brooklyn Center.
“That means when we make calls to actions, show up.... So when we say pull up to someone’s house...”
Because it was guilty verdicts across the board, I believe Minneapolis will remain fairly peaceful tonight. I’m in the area should anything arise, but I don’t see there being any major instances of looting or arson.
I’m working on getting a ride to Brooklyn Center to see what’s going on down there. There’s a curfew in effect in 3 hours, and after the March they told people to descend upon the police station in that city.
After all the calls following today‘s March to go to Brooklyn Center, practically no one showed up. So both Minneapolis and Brooklyn Center will see a night of peace. This is the scene outside Kim Potter‘s police precinct, the location I recorded all of last week’s chaos at.
In comparison this was the scene here EXACTLY a week ago:
JFC. I’m running around everywhere today. I’m wiped. But here’s downtown Minneapolis now. It’s dead too.
Gunna check a few more places then I might just order myself some Korean food and call it a night. I’m exhausted and it’s dead out here. I’ve been on the streets for a full week now, it’s time to relax.
The guilty verdict went a long way towards keeping it peaceful here.
All week the other side of this fence was bustling with National Guard. Tonight it’s quiet.
And with that, my coverage comes to an end. Combined with the events of last week, I’ve now been on the street every day/night for a week, and I’m beyond exhausted. I’m on hand for if anything happens in the coming days, but if it remains calm, I’m going to stay inside & relax.
To everyone who followed my many threads. Thanks a ton. And for those who sent donations my way, it’s much appreciated. I’m here completely independently, so your contributions make a huge difference.
