As of today, Minnesota’s average #COVID19 positivity rate is 4.97%.
That’s the first time it’s been under the 5% warning line since March 29. It comes after 11 straight days of improvement.
Minnesota’s now down to an average of just under 1,700 newly reported #COVID19 cases per day, compared to more than 2,100/day two weeks ago.
Active, confirmed cases are down to just over 15,000, from a peak over 20K.
Unless there’s a data error on @mnhealth’s website, today Minnesota reported 0 new #COVID19 deaths for the first time since March 22, and only the 2nd time since last April.
@mnhealth The last day with 0 deaths reported, March 22, was also a Monday. Due to slower reporting over weekends, Monday reports tend to have the fewest number of new #COVID19 deaths.
@mnhealth #COVID19 hospitalizations are also trending down (though this chart might overstate the drop in the past day or two, due to reporting effects). Another day or two should hopefully make the trend here more solid.
@mnhealth Meanwhile, Minnesota’s #COVID19 vaccination trend is leveling out after two weeks or so of decline driven by the pause on J&J doses. The resumption of J&J might lead to this ticking up again soon.
@mnhealth Around 85% of MN seniors, 60% of those 50-64, 45% of adults 18-49, and 25% of 16- and 17-year-olds have at least one dose.
@mnhealth About 0.5% of MN adults 18-64 are getting vaccinated each day over the past week, along with more than 1% of 16- and 17-year-olds per day, and a smattering of remaining unvaccinated seniors.
@mnhealth Overall, 55% of Minnesota adults have at least one shot, and 40% of adults are fully vaccinated.
@mnhealth No slippage yet in MN’s vaccination speed — at least, not on a statewide level. (Some local areas have declined new shipments of vaccine because they say they don’t have enough demand to get them out in 3 days.)
