On the occasion of #narasimhajayanti, a short thread of few lesser known temples & avatars of Sri Laxmi narasimha Swamy.
Sri Yoga Narasimha temple, Gorur, Karnataka- Sri vishnu is believed to have appeared as Sri Yoganarasimha (yogic posture) on a stone to sage gokarna.The present deity statue is believed to be carved from the same stone.The deity is special as he faces west and has three eyes 🙏.
Jharani Narsimha cave temple,Bidar, Karnataka - The idol here is believed to be a swayambhu(self manifest) formed on the laterite wall. One has to wade through a 4 - 5 feet of water in the cave to get a glimpse of this divine deity at the end of tunnel, an architectural wonder 🙏
Ugra Narasimhdeva, Durbar of Bhaktapur, Nepal.This image of Sri Nrsimha in a fierce avatar- is located outside the main entrance to the National Art Gallery dates back t 1698 AD.
