John Skilling - Wikipedia

In 1993 after the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, John Skilling said in an interview to the Seattle Times that according to their studies the World Trade Center was strong enough to withstand the impact of a Boeing 707. The en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Skil…

only thing they were worried about was, in case of an airplane crash, the dumping of all airfuel into the building which would cause a horrendous fire. The building structure would still be there. John Skilling (October 8, 1921 in Los Angeles, California – March 5, 1998 in

Seattle, Washington) was a civil engineer and architect, best known for being the chief structural engineer of the World Trade Center.

John Skilling graduated from the University of Washington in 1947 with a B.S. in civil engineering[2] and started working for an engineering

firm called W.H. Witt Co, which is now known as Magnusson Klemencic Associates. In 1998, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey decided to privatize it by leasing the buildings to a private company to manage. It awarded the lease to Silverstein Properties in July 2001.

The western portion of the World Trade Center site was originally under the Hudson River. The shoreline was in the vicinity of Greenwich Street, which is closer to the site's eastern border. It was on this shoreline, close to the intersection of Greenwich and the former Dey

Street, that Dutch explorer Adriaen Block's ship, Tyger, burned to the waterline in November 1613, stranding him and his crew and forcing them to overwinter on the island. They built the first European settlement in Manhattan. The remains of the ship were buried under landfill

when the shoreline was extended beginning in 1797 and was discovered during excavation work in 1916.

The idea of establishing a World Trade Center in New York City was first proposed in 1943. The New York State Legislature passed a bill authorizing New York Governor Thomas E. Dewey to begin developing plans for the project,[16] but the plans were put on hold in 1949. Dewey and

La Guardia threatened Schultz with instant arrest and further charges. Schultz now proposed to murder Dewey. Dewey would be killed while he made his daily morning call to his office from a pay phone near his home.[21] However, New York crime boss Lucky Luciano and the "Mafia

Commission" decided that Dewey's murder would provoke an all-out crackdown. Instead they had Schultz killed.[21] Schultz was shot to death in the restroom of a bar in Newark.[25]
Dewey's legal team turned their attention to Lucky Luciano. Assistant DA Eunice Carter oversaw

investigations into prostitution racketeering. She raided 80 houses of prostitution in the New York City area and arrested hundreds of prostitutes and "madams". By the late 1930s Dewey's successful efforts against organized crime—and especially his conviction of Lucky Luciano—had

turned him into a national celebrity. His nickname, the "Gangbuster", was used for the popular 1930s Gang Busters radio series based on his fight against the mob. A popular story from the time, possibly apocryphal, featured a young girl who told her father that she wanted to sue

God to stop a prolonged spell of rain. When her father replied "you can't sue God and win", the girl said "I can if Dewey is my lawyer."

Commander Charles R. Haffenden of the U.S. Navy Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) Third Naval District in New York to set up a special

security unit. He sought the help of Joseph Lanza, who ran the Fulton Fish Market, to get intelligence about the New York waterfront, control the labor unions, and identify possible refueling and resupply operations for German submarines with the help of the fishing industry

along the Atlantic Coast. To cover Lanza’s activities, he approached Meyer Lansky and solicited his help in reaching Charles Luciano who was an important boss of the five New York Mafia crime families. Luciano agreed to cooperate with authorities in hopes of consideration for

early release from prison.[4]
In 1936, Luciano had been tried and convicted for compulsory prostitution and running a prostitution racket after years of investigation by District Attorney Thomas E. Dewey. He was sentenced to 30 to 50 years in prison, but during World War II an

agreement was struck with the Department of the Navy through his associate Meyer Lansky to provide naval intelligence. In 1946, for his alleged wartime cooperation, Luciano's sentence was commuted on the condition that he be deported to Italy. As a reward for his assistance, in

1945, Meyer Lansky was awarded a Medal of Freedom by President Harry S. Truman in a secret ceremony at the White House. Meyer Lansky (born Meier Suchowlański; July 4, 1902 – January 15, 1983), known as the "Mob's Accountant", was a major American organized crime figure who,

along with his associate Charles "Lucky" Luciano, was instrumental in the development of the National Crime Syndicate in the United States.

Meyer Lansky was born Meier Suchowlański in Grodno,[8] Russian Empire (now Belarus), to a Polish-Jewish family who experienced antisemitism

and pogroms from Imperial authorities. Lansky met Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel when they were children. They became lifelong friends, as well as partners in the bootlegging trade, and together managed the Bugs and Meyer Mob, with its reputation as one of the most violent Prohibition

gangs. Lansky was also close friends with Charles "Lucky" Luciano; the two met as teenagers when Luciano attempted to extort Lansky for protection money on his walk home from school. In the 1930s, Lansky and his gang stepped outside their usual criminal activities to break up

rallies held by the pro-Nazi German-American Bund. The Bund's national headquarters was located at 178 East 85th Street in the New York City borough of Manhattan. Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun (originally "Anshe Jeshurun"), a Modern Orthodox synagogue founded by Russian Jewish

immigrants in 1872, is located at 125 East 85th Street, between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue, in a building built in 1902.[12] The lower division of the Ramaz School, a coeducational, private Modern Orthodox Jewish prep school, shares a building with the congregation.[13]
The

German American Bund, an American Nazi organization, had its national headquarters at 178 East 85th Street from 1936 through the early 1940s, and occasionally paraded in the neighborhood in Nazi uniforms. Park Lane Tower, the 35-story L-shaped high-rise apartment building shown

in the opening credits of the television show The Jeffersons (1975-1985), is located at 185 East 85th Street and Third Avenue. The 86th Street transverse cuts through Central Park, and is directly below the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir.

The site of Seneca Village is in Central Park near West 85th Street. The three lots on which the village was established were purchased in 1825 by Andrew Williams for $125 ($2,900 in current dollar terms), and sold by him to the City of New York three decades later for $2,335

($64,900 in current dollar terms). In the mid-19th century it was a shanty-town, and it may have been populated by free blacks in the early 1800s. The five-story dark red brick house was built in 1913-14 as a private residence for Lewis Gouverneur Morris, a financier and

descendant of Gouverneur Morris, a signer of the Articles of Confederation and United States Constitution, and Alletta Nathalie Lorillard Bailey. The building was later also called the New World Foundation Building. It was founded in 1954 by Anita McCormick Blaine, a prominent

member of the McCormick family and an heiress to industrialist Cyrus Hall McCormick and a supporter of Henry Wallace's 1948 presidential campaign. During the early 1970s, the Foundation supported various civil rights and community projects.[6] Hillary Clinton, whom Marian Wright

Edelman had mentored, was on the board from 1982 to 1988, and was its chair for some of that time, including 1987. Edelman serves on the board of the New York City-based Robin Hood Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to the elimination of poverty. Founded in 1988 and

named after the heroic outlaw from English folklore, the Robin Hood Foundation was conceived by hedge fund manager Paul Tudor Jones and co-founded with Peter Borish and Glenn Dubin. The foundation combines investment principles and philanthropy to assist programs that target

poverty in New York City. In 2006, the board of directors included such names as Jeffrey Immelt, Diane Sawyer, Harvey Weinstein, Marie-Josee Kravis, Lloyd Blankfein of Goldman Sachs, Richard S. Fuld, Jr., formerly of Lehman Brothers, Glenn Dubin of Highbridge Capital, Marian

Wright Edelman and actress Gwyneth Paltrow. Funding for the organization's activities comes from donations and fund raising efforts. In 2009, George Soros gave the foundation a US$50 million contribution.

The Vulcans is a nickname used to refer to Republican Presidential candidate George W. Bush's foreign policy advisory team assembled to brief him prior to the 2000 US presidential election. The Vulcans were

led by Condoleezza Rice and included Richard Armitage, Robert Blackwill, Stephen Hadley, Richard Perle, Dov S. Zakheim, Robert Zoellick and Paul Wolfowitz, and Wolfowitz protégé, Scooter Libby. Other key campaign figures including Dick Cheney, George P. Shultz and Colin Powell

were also closely associated with the group, but were never actually members. The name "The Vulcans" alludes to a huge statue of Vulcan, the Roman god of fire and metalworking, in Rice's home town of Birmingham, Alabama. It may also allude to fictional, humanlike, alien beings

who suppress their emotions in favor of cold rational logic in Star Trek. The most famous of those Vulcans is Spock, played by Leonard Nimoy.

During the summer of 1998, George W. Bush met with Condoleezza Rice at the behest of George H. W. Bush at the Bush estate in

Kennebunkport, Maine. Rice had been director for Soviet and East European Affairs of the National Security Council under Brent Scowcroft during George H. W. Bush's administration and Scowcroft had been guiding her career ever since, ensuring she came to the attention of Bush Sr.

"Eventually he was quite taken with her", Scowcroft recalled in an interview by James Mann for his book Rise of the Vulcans (2004). According to Coit D. Blacker, Rice and George W. Bush also "bonded at Kennebunkport" in August 1998.

Regis High School was founded in 1914, through the financial bequest of a single (originally anonymous) benefactress Julia M. Grant,[a] the widow of Mayor Hugh J. Grant. She stipulated that her gift be used to build a Jesuit high school providing a free education for Catholic

boys with special consideration given to those who could not otherwise afford a Catholic education.[7] The school continues that policy and does not charge tuition.[8] The Grants' former home is the residence of the Vatican Observer to the United Nations, where the pope stays

when he visits New York City.

The Owl, the school's newspaper, interviewed CIA leak case prosecutor and alumnus Patrick J. Fitzgerald in 2006.

As special counsel for the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Special Counsel, Fitzgerald was the federal prosecutor in charge of the investigation of the Valerie Plame Affair, which led to the prosecution and conviction in 2007 of Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff

Scooter Libby for perjury. After practicing civil law, Fitzgerald became an Assistant United States Attorney in New York City in 1988. He handled drug-trafficking cases and in 1993 assisted in the prosecution of Mafia figure John Gambino, a boss of the Gambino crime family.[11]

In 1994, Fitzgerald became the prosecutor in the case against Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman and 11 others charged in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.[12]
In 1996, Fitzgerald became the National Security Coordinator for the Office of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of

New York. There, he served on a team of prosecutors investigating Osama bin Laden.[13] He also served as chief counsel in prosecutions related to the 1998 U.S. embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania.

Fitzgerald is now a partner with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in the

On December 30, 2003, after then-Attorney General John Ashcroft recused himself from the CIA leak grand jury investigation of the Plame affair due to conflicts of interest, Deputy Attorney General James B. Comey, acting as Attorney General in Ashcroft's place, appointed

Fitzgerald to the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Special Counsel in charge of the investigation.[4][5] Fitzgerald was well-known to Comey and was in fact already godfather to one of Comey's children. In 2014, Fitzgerald was hired by Michigan State University to conduct an

internal MSU investigation to discover whether and when university officials knew about sexual assault allegations against Dr. Larry Nassar. Fitzgerald reported directly to university officials that no MSU official "believed" that Nassar had committed sexual assault, but did

not provide any written report detailing the evidence for this claim.[

Blinken attended the Dalton School in New York City until 1971.[6] He then moved to Paris with his mother Judith and Samuel Pisar, whom she married following her divorce from Donald. Pisar was the lawyer and confidant of British publisher Robert Maxwell.

Once she came back giddy as a schoolgirl with an explosion of news, with all the build up and excitement in her voice you'd think she was the next crown princess," Giuffre writes. “But she had given George Cooney a blowjob in the bathroom at some random event.
"She never let

that one down."An aura of mystery has long surrounded CargoMetrics Technologies, a Boston-based quantitative hedge fund that uses ship-movement data to place market bets and has secured financial backing from private-equity giant Blackstone, famed investor Paul Tudor Jones,

Google founder Eric Schmidt, Israeli shipping magnate Idan Ofer, and most recently, Maersk Tankers.
Rupert Murdoch’s ex-wife Wendi Deng, alleged fan of Tony Blair’s rear end, does not look so good in Mark Seal’s juicy new Vanity Fair story about the couple’s divorce. Her

descriptions of lust for the former British prime minister — “He has such good body and he has really really good legs Butt” — were already enough to secure a place in the romance canon for her alleged “passionate note … written in broken English by a woman to herself,” but it

turns out there’s more, this time about another alleged Wendi fling, former Google CEO and current executive chairman Eric Schmidt. He does not come off as well as Tony Blair’s butt. (Rupert’s body is not evaluated.)

From the full story, on newsstands now:

In the aforementioned

note to herself, Wendi wrote, “Eric fucks Lisa,” presumably referring to Eric Schmidt and Lisa Shields, vice president of media affairs at the Council on Foreign Relations, whom Schmidt reportedly dated. “Lisa will never have my style, grace … I achieved my purpose of Eric saw

me looking so gorgeous and so fantastic and so young, so cool, so chic, so stylish, so funny and he cannot have me. I’m not ever feel sad … about losing Eric … Plus he is really really ugly. Unattractive … and fat. Not stylish at all try to wear hip clothes … I’m so so soo

soooo happy I’m not with him.”

Hey ladies, let go of your panties and step inside Google boss Eric Schmidt's fully soundproofed $15 million penthouse at 31 W. 21st St., where he keeps up several high-profile affairs, according to The Post. That's it, relax and get comfortable,

safe in the knowledge that no one will ever know Schmidt briefly pretended to care about you, because a source tells the tabloid "while everyone in New York wants a doorman, Eric specifically said he didn’t want one. He doesn’t want anyone to see him and his guests coming in

and out. He insisted on his own elevator."
His mistresses reportedly include Lisa Shields, an executive on the Council on Foreign Relations, and a Vietnamese pianist named Chau-Giang Thi Nguyen

Schmidt reportedly paid millions to get the sex arena soundproofed, so no one can hear the wild throes of ecstasy from the world's 138th richest man. (We're told it sounds like a fondue pot of ambrosia and Gelfling tears boiling over.) Thanks for permanently ruining the bathroom

of Max Fish for the rest of us, mister big shot!
At any rate, this "fornication vacuum" still can't compete with the antics of the world's 13th richest person in the world, who has a thing for fucking New Yorkers over in broad daylight.

“What I remember about this incident is that my sous chef came into my office, furious, telling me that ‘some fat fuck’ saying he’s an owner — he didn’t know the name — had come into the kitchen with a woman and shoved a $100 bill at him and told him to get out,” Amiri told THR.

“It was like 1:30 in the morning and he’d been the only one still there. The chef told me he was going to quit.” Later, Amiri said he saw Weinstein fix his belt behind the bar, but couldn’t see that there was a woman with him. While Sivan said Weinstein masturbated into a potted

plant, Amiri recalls that he’d actually done it into a pot: When the chef picked up a pot placed on the stove, “It had been defiled,” Amiri recalled. “It was so bizarre. We couldn’t believe it happened.” After Sivan spoke to the Huffington Post, Amiri said Weinstein asked him to

give a statement about Socialista, and Amiri agreed. When Weinstein’s lawyers later asked him to say that he didn’t see anything happen that night, Amiri told THR, “I couldn’t make a statement absolving him because when [Sivan] came forward, my memory clicked.”
