You know what, let's watch some Nets/Bucks Game 4.
For Milwaukee, must win. The win in G3 wasn't a series shifter but you just need one more to put the heat back on Brooklyn. Defensively, keep being active and physical. Offensively, move the ball, up the tempo in the 1/2 ct, force Brooklyn to react.
Milwaukee has the pressure points but they aren't using them consistently. You need the production from the Big 3 but it has to be the right way. Stop leaving food on the table and the food you have...season it.
If you're Brooklyn you took a punch and had a big chance to walk away up 3-0. Have to keep defending Milwaukee. Get back to the movement/cuts, exploit the drops and keep the pressure on Milwaukee. You win this one it's a when not if.
Do they just text DJ Khaled and tell him he has to update his voiceover or was this all in the can?
Brook Lopez is giving Bruce Brown the full Bam treatment today.
Brook Lopez playing all the way off Bruce Brown right now. PJ Tucker does a good job of denying Kevin Durant but Kevin Durant really hasn't cared about a thing that the Bucks have done on defense this series.
LOOK AT THE SEASONING. Giannis screens for Jrue but notice the side is EMPTY. You see the pressure that puts on Blake Griffin. Jrue is turning the corner, Giannis is rolling. Blake stunts and recovers, Jrue sees it and goes right up.
Bucks haven't had much of answer for Kevin Durant in this series and if they are going to add movement I don't know what you do. Comes off a stagger into a dribble handoff and goes right into a pull-up.
It's not perfect but Brooklyn's defense has been locked in this series.
Have to love the little things Bruce Brown does as a big. KD rejects the P&R, Brown rolls into the pocket. On the catch he goes right back to KD, screens, and on the reject is in the pocket. It takes some bigs forever to get this feel.
Shoutout to the side of the backboard for holding us down during this sequence.
Blake Griffin working his tail off defensively this series. His efforts are why you aren't seeing the full "wall" as Giannis pushes in transition. Holds his ground and takes the charge.
Joe Harris has been solid as hell all year long.
Kevin Durant just has not cared about any of the coverages from Milwaukee so far. Double drag, Jrue does a good job jumping out and sending him back to Middleton. KD responds by just pulling up from 3.
I don't have any analysis but here is Kyrie vs. Thanasis featuring the Nets bench almost losing their minds.
Milwaukee is only shooting 37.5% from the field after one. Middleton/Giannis/Jrue shooting 5-for-14. Only down by 3. A positive but also they have to find the Nets pressure points if they want to win this series. 9 field goals, 8 assists isn't bad but have to build.
For Brooklyn, you still have control of the series but you need to go ahead and take this one.
Jeff Green is such a good bridge for Brooklyn lineup wise. Just slides into what they want to do on both ends.
Look at Milwaukee trying to attack pressure points. James guarding Jrue go right into the post for Jrue. This is good help from Claxton.
You know what Mike James came here to do.
I can't break the thread so I'll take my L. HERE'S THE RIGHT CLIP. Look at Milwaukee trying to attack pressure points. James guarding Jrue go right into the post for Jrue. This is good help from Claxton.
I'll never be able to explain why you get hyped when they call an illegal screen but you do.
Milwaukee is fighting. Brooklyn's going to have to get in the mud a little bit to win this series.
Bucks digging in defensively, pushing off stops and getting easy baskets. Certainly one way to fix the half court issues.
Good switch by Mlwaukee defensively, defense able to recover, Kyrie doesn't care.
Good defense by Milwaukee again here. Kyrie screens for KD, no switch. Tucker tries to deny the catch. Middleton showing help from the baseline. Connaughton does a good job playing two, holds on the baseline but gets back out to the skip pass. Defense to offense for the Bucks.
Oh not Kyrie...
Activity from PJ Tucker has had an impact on Brooklyn's movement. Denies KD here on the handoff, gets his hands on the ball again, gets a strip. Defense keeping Milwaukee in this one.
LOOK AT THE SEASONING. Giannis screens for Middleton but there's only one guy on the weakside. Griffin in a drop, Giannis rolling to a single side. Harris helps on the roll, skip to Tucker for 3.
And this is where I scratch my head at Milwaukee. Jrue screens for Middleton in transition. Nets switch James on to Middleton and the Bucks immediately go away from the matchup. Drive and kick gets them a good look but there's food on the table.
Bucks go back to Giannis screening for Middleton and the Nets switch. Griffin does a good job keeping the ball in front and contesting. Having Green back gives Brooklyn the personnel to make that action a switch which makes it interesting.
Milwaukee is fighting. Nets have 10 TO's. Milwaukee shooting 40% from three, 11 made so far. 20 made field goals, 16 assists. Still some things they could attack but they've given themselves a chance to even the series and that's what matters.
To be up at half with Jrue/Middleton shooting 5-for-16 has to be a win.
For the Nets, have to get your flow back offensively. Have to take care of the ball, can't let Milwaukee get in transition and get easy ones. Now is the time to spam KD in pick and roll to try and get this one. With Kyrie down and Harden out not sure you want a 3 game scrap.
What's the name for Milwaukee's outdoor fan section because I've just been calling it Midwest Jurassic Park and that feels disrespectful.
Salute to Deer District. My bad.
Can we just turn injuries off?
Milwaukee has Giannis screen for Jrue and again look at the attempt from the Bucks. Weakside is just Brook on the wing, corner is empty. Pressure is on KD but he does a good job helping and recovering. Giannis ISO, Nets are *sitting* on that spin.
Brooklyn has to get their offense going mainly so they can keep Milwaukee out of transition and limit their flow.
Bucks are just grinding their way to get this one. I can't point to the exploit they've found outside of getting stops and easier chances on the other end.
Giannis pushes in transition you see the Nets showing a wall of defense at the elbows. Giannis goes right to Jrue and a pick and roll. Jrue able to turn the corner, keeps James on the side and finish. Slight but important difference.
Bucks go to Giannis screening for Jrue here. James fights over and Jrue attacks the matchup. He can change the math a little bit.
It's going to have to be a whole lot of this from Kevin Durant for the Nets today.
Bucks are actually running Giannis/Middleton P&R with just one player on the weakside. Seasoning.
The interesting part is the Bucks have been more aggressive against Kevin Durant in pick and roll. Want to see how long it lasts and if Brooklyn can make Milwaukee pay.
Milwaukee goes back to the double P&R for Jrue with Middleton/Giannis as screeners. Nets actually switch and Harris able to navigate. Giannis does a good job of going right to a re-screen, Jrue attacks Claxton and able to finish over him.
Giannis screens for Jrue here and the Nets switch with Brown/Claxton involved. Now that gives Giannis a 1v1 in the middle of the floor vs. Brown. Gets by him and draws the foul.
Bucks showing more attention to Kevin Durant. Claxton screens for him and you see Lopez isn't quite at the level but is staying with KD's drive. Unlock the roll for Claxton but I don't know if Milwaukee is going to help on that which is what Brooklyn needs.
Giannis brings it up in transition, Nets looking at him as he looks to attack. Look at the weakside movement, Tucker exchanges with Middleton, Giannis drives and kicks for a 3.
If Kyrie is out this series has low key turned into Grizz/Thunder from 2013.
*checks laundry*
Playoffs are crazy unforgiving. Nets were almost up 3-0 and instead it's 2-2 with Harden/Kyrie both hurt.
Milwaukee's found some things. Defensively more ready for the movement/cutting. More disruptive to take away the rhythm. That's allowing them easier baskets on the other end. Half court still an adventure but they are *trying* some things which is progress.
For the Nets, I wondered if they would spam KD pick and roll and now they are not going to have a choice in Game 5. He's going to have to lose his mind because if the Nets struggle to score the Bucks have margin for error.
