1) If you think Bill C-10 is bad, wait until you see what else the Canadian government is planning on doing.
2) If someone fears that another person may possibly commit an offence based on race, sex, sexuality, colour, religion, etc, they can file a complaint with their provincial court.
3) If the provincial court judge accepts the complaint, they can impose curfews, monitoring devices, and prohibit you from having firearms or consuming and alcohol or drugs. They can also impose regular drug/alcohol testing. If you refuse, you can be put in jail for up to a year.
4) You don't get to know who your accuser is or who the potential victims are. The court can also fine you up to $70,000 if it sees fit.
5) Again, all that is required is for someone to be afraid that you'll say something hateful online.
