You can make my DAKKA dice using the "roll my dice" app.
The idea is to take all the number crunch out by using 1 die per attack, and using the symbols as specifics depending on the unit and its required result.
Hit
Critical hit
DEFF: Unit dependent: may be a miss, may be a fumble, may count as a hit in hand to hand, may result in self damage, may only count if leader close, may cause unit to flee, may cause unit to raise 1 corpse.
The game would play like this...
My guard conscript unit shoots your Squat Infantry - there are six
.. (scoop up 6 dakka dice).
I get two shooting re rolls- but skulls counts as jams and cannot be rolled again.
(6 die) I get... three hits... and two jams.
(4 die) two more hits
Each unit gets a card clearly explaining its skull or crit rules.
So what are crits?
Again, unit dependent. Crappy units may only hit on a crit. Troops may ignore crits. Veterans count them as hits. Snipers as unsavable hits against foot units.
