Forecast is for hot temps and a strong easterly (20 gusting 40) wind this afternoon
#sparkslake fire by Kamloops grew (July 14, 6am). But most growth is towards the 2017 fire.
These two fires by 70 mile house just took right off yesterday. Especially the northern fire.
The Embleton fire by Whitecroft and Heffley had activity but stayed on the hilltop.
Looks like the smoke everyone was seeing near Kamloops wasn't a new fire but a previous fire flaring up again.
This guy in the Nicola valley sure took off
As did this new one by July Mountain (South of Merritt)
The #lyttonfire took off again and what appears to be a new start to the south
Mckay Creek starting to show some life again
#thomascreek by okanagan falls is just happily burning it's way up the hillside
plenty of heat in the #canimlake complex
Can't forget these fires to the west of Quesnel
Or the fire that closed the only highway to Bella Coola (or fires because it looks like two jumped the highway).
Keep in mind these are just hotspots from the past 24 hours.
Anyways, I need to stop doom scrolling and be productive. Thank you to all of those doing everything you can.
I do not extend my thanks to the NDP. I'm feeling especially frustrated this morning.
