🎯Best Mid Priced (£7.0-£8.0) FWDs

All drafts I’ve seen so far have at least 1 Mid Priced Forward. But the problem is there are so many great options.

I’ll look into each players fixtures and points ceiling to try and help you nail your Mid Price Option.

#FPL #FPLCommunity

⚪️Bamford (£8.0)

Last season’s hero, Bamford was 2nd highest FWD scorer (194). His 17 Goals & 11 Assists superb for his first EPL Season.

The Forwards Goal Threat was strong, with 174 Penalty Touches, taking 95 Attempts in the Box. 32 Big Chances also highlighting his poacher…

…qualities. Also on Pens, Bamford’s looking a great option.

Leeds’ opening fixtures are mixed, getting better from GW7. But Leeds were attacking against any oppo last season. A major downside for me is the price, with £8.0 possibly too much for the Englishman.

🍬DCL (£8.0)

The Evertonian was on fire early on, ending up with 16 Goals this season. DCL also was 1st for Headed Goal Attempts (34), suiting his target man style.

DCL had 150 Penalty Area Touches, with 31 Big Chances so is a great option to pop up with a goal or 2…

…My favourite attribute from the Forward is his aerial threat, winning 153 Aerial Duels!

His fixtures are rated the Best for the 1st 10, so is a great long term option. His price is a slight issue but I think he’s definitely worth the £8.0, for his high potential over GWs1-10.

⚒️Antonio (£7.5)

A DGW hero last season, Antonio was impressive; 10 Goals & 5 Assists with 4 Winning Goals. Having only played 28 Games, his 128 Penalty Area Touches still strong.

Antonio had 51 Attempts in the Box, including 18 Big Chances, with the Hammer also being a…

…creative force, Creating 27 Chances (3 Big). West Ham have a good start, facing NEW, CRY, SOU in first 4.

But injuries put me off Antonio, with persistent Hamstring problems. Hence I think he will be rotated to preserve him, resulting in less mins. A possible punt early on.

🦊Iheanacho (£7.5)

What an end to the season for Nacho, who finished on 12 Goals & 2 Assists. This included a superb Hat-Trick against SHU.

There to finish off chances, he had 16 Big Chances, with 38 Attempts being in the Box. But his 85 Penalty Area Touces are low. He also…

…only created 6 Big Chances, low for an ST who often was a provider for Vardy.

But the fixtures to begin with are strong, facing WOL & NOR in the first 3 with WOL conceding 72 Big Chances last season. He’s also a fair price at £7.5 and can see him starting the season well.

🐺Jiménez (£7.5)

A horrific injury saw a long period off, but I think he can hit the ground running. 4 Goals in 10 Games was still impressive, and he always seemed like scoring.

The Mexican has 41 Penalty Area Touches and had 4 Big Chances, quality numbers for 10 Appearances…

Having played 30 mins in the first friendly, Jiménez is finding his feet and was already picking up some great positions. He also took a Direct Free Kick!

Wolves have great fixtures from GW4, so I’ll wait and see for the first 3 Games. I reckon he’ll be worth the £7.5.

🦁Watkins (£7.5)

The most owned on this thread, Watkins looks a strong pick. 14 Goals & 9 Assists in his debut campaign was superb, with 241 Penalty Area Touches the most in the thread!

Watkins had 97 Goal Attempts (87 in the Box), the Englishman also had 24 Big Chances…

…and Creating 45 Chances. Watkins combines creativity and going for goal perfectly, so is a fantastic asset.

Villa have 3 great fixtures to start, good potential for Watkins. It then takes a turn for the worse, but a transfer to Jiménez in GW4 is definitely on the cards.

⚫️Wilson (£7.5)

Under the radar so far, Wilson is still a strong pick. With 12 Goals & 6 Assists the Englishman was in fine form last campaign, always scoring when heavily owned.

His 102 Penalty Area Touches are quite low compared to the other options, but Wilson was…

…presented with 21 Big Chances in just 26 Games. If he continues to get this number of chances, he’ll be an essential pick this season.

Newcastle have a strong first 9 fixtures, only MUN as a tough one. But with Newcastle being a relatively poor side, Wilson would be a punt.

🍷Wood (£7.0)

The cheapest on the list, Wood had a strong season; 12 Goals & 3 Assists for a Burnley side who are often poor going Forwards.

The Target Man’s had 70 Goal Attempts, including 24 Headed Attempts. The Kiwi has also clocked up 26 Big Chances, with 137 touches…

…in the Penalty Area. Wood is not very creative, often camping on the last Defender and waiting to pounce crosses. He has, however, notched up 137 Penalty Area Touches.

Burnley have a fairly challenging start, but he’ll be a great differential and from GW7, he looks strong.

📜Verdict

🥇DCL
🥈Watkins
🥉Antonio
🎯Wilson

For me, DCL has great fixtures, is the biggest Toffee goal threat and is a superb long term pick.

Watkins has a great first 3 fixtures, has solid goal and assist potential, with an easy transfer to Jiménez in GW4 possible…

Just behind is Antonio who has solid fixtures and always seems to pop up with a goal or 2. But injury history puts him below Watkins.

And finally for a punt is Wilson, who is always in and around the 6 yard box, popping up when needed. A fun fantasy asset to own.
