The videos shared on Chinese social media about the floodings in Henan following the heavy rain really show the severity of the situation. These are some of them.

Subway passengers trapped in the water.

Several cities including Zhengzhou were hit by downpours, leading to extreme scenes.

This video was shared on Weibo earlier tonight.

The subway line video is in Zhengzhou, Line 5, where people got trapped during the flood, and panic set in as oxygen started to run out. According to latest reports, the passengers have now been saved one by one thanks to local Henan firefighters 🙏

News came out earlier that the passengers of the flooded subway were rescued one by one. Unfortunately some videos and photos are circulating online now where it seems clear that not everyone survived this tragedy.

The 'Stand Strong, Henan' images are coming out now. 🙏

More footage from Tuesday 7.20 in Zhengzhou, where some people were trapped in an underground mall and people worked together to get them out.

If you see these kinds of videos going around Weibo and elsewhere you realize just how many incidents occurred today apart from the bigger ones. This family of three managed to be pulled from the mud. 🙌 #henan #zhengzhou

Photo shared on Weibo, saying "I've never ever seen Zhengzhou this dark at night." 😣

A kind gesture in these terrible times. This youth orchestra pulled out their instruments and performed for all those other passengers who are stranded at the Zhengzhou East Station tonight ❤️ All trains were suspended after 2am on the 21st.

One subway entrance of line 7 in Zhengzhou collapsed on Tuesday.

It's not over yet. It is now 3.45 am local time, authorities have issued a warning at 3.30 that heavy rain is expected to continue for the next 3 hours in Zhengzhou city and surrounding counties.

Earlier in this thread there was a video of people helping those trapped in lower levels. There is more footage showing other places in Zhengzhou where citizens also joined forces to help those trapped by the water to get out safely.

The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University is apparently dealing with a power outage, there are cries for help by netizens on social media to help with resources to rescue patients. (These are not verified news reports, waiting for official news reports on this.)

More videos coming out on the situation earlier on Tuesday night in the Zhengzhou subway. From what I can find now, the majority of passengers got out safely, but unfortunately, some did not. (Please comment with source link if more is known on this 🙏.)

This video was shared by People's Daily, showing the strength of the water current in Zhengzhou. People formed a human chain to prevent being dragged away. #henan

You know it's bad when the fish are swimming across the streets.

More videos coming out from Zhengzhou East Station where so many passengers are currently stranded, and where people are making the best out of a bad situation.

Just before midnight, over 150 people (kids and teachers) were rescued from a flooded kindergarten in Zhengzhou. Glad to see some of the kids and firefighters smiling during the rescue operation 🙌

Chinese social media sites such as Weibo have now become tools in getting people help during the Zhengzhou floods, as also during Wuhan covid19 outbreak in early 2020. Lists are passed around with all restaurant and shop names where people can get food, drink, and shelter.

This is what pulling through together really is. Many different videos like this are surfacing on social media now, showing the power of the water and the power of people sticking together.

This video is going viral Weibo and making its rounds on WeChat today. Nothing but praise for the people who see this unfold and do not hesitate a single moment to jump in. 🙏

People have been stuck inside this train for 44 hours now and are getting more anxious, asking for help via social media.

Weibo facilitates active public participation to provide immediate assistance to the people facing the terrible floods in Henan. See: How social media is speeding up #Zhengzhou rescue efforts - whatsonweibo.com/how-social-med…

The footage of the train in which passengers have been stuck for over 44 hours is the k206. But there are at least twelve other stranded trains with passengers in the affected region. This k227 with 735 passengers was stranded for over 24 hours, but help arrived.

If you wonder what it actually looks like when rain this big comes pouring down - this pretty much shows the intensity of the rain in Zhengzhou.
