🎨 Best Semi-Premium (£10.0-£8.0) MIDS 🎨

Many managers are looking to cover each price point and a sticking point is the Semi-Premium (£10.0-£8.0) Block.

I’ll assess the key options at that price point and which player should fill the position. Let’s go 👊🏻

#FPL #FPLCommunity

🐓Son (£10.0)

With Kane seeming likely to leave, how will Son cope? But I think this could be the making of him.

In a recent friendly, Son played ST (3 Goal Involvements) and looked ready to get in behind & cause problems, so arguably he will be improved as an FPL asset…

Son was superb last season, with 17 Goals & 13 Assists. His 134 Penalty Area Touches are great for a MID, having 23 Big Chances in Total. The Korean’s 14 Big Chances Created are also impressive.

The only downside is Kane & Son combined for 15 Goals last season so Son is…

…likely to lose his partner is crime. This definitely makes him less of an option, but I also think he will play more centrally hence having more Big Chances.

The fixtures are also good early on, so Son is a good pick if he continues to play central Pre Season. Keep tabs here:

😈Sancho (£9.5)

After years of anticipation, Sancho is finally a Red. And I think he could be a cheap way into the United side.

Last season, Sancho recorded 8 Goals & 11 Assists, good numbers in a slow Bundesliga. Sancho also Created 67 Chances, with 14 of them being Big…

….(the 3rd Best in the Division). Sancho’s style of play suits a United side as he loves to cut inside and go for goal.

When comparing his stats to the other United assets, he is top for minutes per chances created (31), and minutes per big chances created (147.9)…

However, I am very doubtful of Sancho due to this being his first EPL season. He reminds me of Havertz & Werner last season; so I’m a bit sceptical.

Also I’m not convinced that Sancho can cover Fernandes’ points, so for me Sancho is a wait and see. But he can be explosive.

💎Mahrez (£9.0)

Finishing the season strong, Mahrez always looks a great FPL asset when on the pitch; cutting inside and bearing down on goal.

Mahrez’s 9 Goals & 8 Asssts in only 23 starts is quality, and I see Mahrez playing the majority of Premier League minutes next…

…season. The Algerian also had 155 Penalty Area Touches, and having 58 Goal Attempts (39 In the Box) he’s got great Goal Threat.

The Winger’s creativity is also strong, Creating 44 Chances (8 Big) and attempting 81 Crosses. If Kane was to sign, I can see two linking…

…up well as Mahrez would get round Kane well, to then cross to him later in the move.

The only negative is Pep Roulette with Mahrez mostly being used in the Champions League. So his minutes may be low, but if you have a strong bench, he’s a great pick, especially for GW2 (NOR)!

🔵Havertz (£8.5)

I really like Havertz this year, mostly as he’s a MID. He finished off the season playing as a CF, often finding pockets of space to release a shot.

The German recorded 4 Goals & 6 Assists in 18 starts, with 6 returns coming from CF. Havertz also had 33 Goal…

…Attempts with 12 of them being Big Chances. He also created 18 Chances, taking 87 touches in the box. All impressive numbers for 18 starts.

Having watched the UCL Final, Havertz was superb with drifting into the open spaces, then making runs off the ball to create space…

…for himself, culminating in getting in behind.

My only fear is rotation, with Havertz only playing 42% of EPL mins, being preferred in the Champions League. And if a new ST is bought in he may be pushed backwards. For now, I love Havertz and I’m trying to fit him in for CRY.

🦁Grealish (£8.0)

A creative beast last year, Grealish was at the heart of every Villa attack. The Englishman returned 6 Goals & 12 Assists in only 26 Games from a Winger is great.

Grealish also had 168 Penalty Area Touches, Creating 81 Chances (14 Big), also being the most…

…fouled player in the league! Hence he may be denied chances by being fouled.

The Winger would often drift inside to create, allowing Full Backs to overlap and draw out Defenders. Grealish would then attack the space left corner resulting in a devastating pull back…

I feel if Grealish went to City he’d become a worse asset as he’ll be chucked into Pep Roulette in Attack.

But if he stays at Villa, he’s is a great pick for his creativity and involvement in Villa goals. And with the best first 3 fixtures, he’s definitely one to consider.

📝Honourable Mentions

💎Foden (£8.0)

When he plays, he’s a creative beast. 9 Goals & 8 Assists in 17 Starts is fenomenal. He also had 129 Penalty Area Touches, Creating 36 Chances.

The only negative is Pep Roulette, but if he can nail a spot in the EPL he’ll be a steal!

🔵Pulisic (£8.0)

The Winger was disappointing last season, with only 4 Goals & 3 Assists. But he only played 18 times due to injury, so can be injury prone.

When he does play he’s explosive, with 5 Big Chances Created and 118 touches in the Penalty Area. Early differential!

📜Verdict

🥇Havertz
🥈Son
🥉Grealish
🎯 Mahrez

My favourite is Havertz, who’s set to play OOP and is settled in the Prem. The Goal Threat is high, in my thoughts.

Sonny will either link up great with Kane or lead the line out of position. Great threat and in form…

If Grealish stays at Villa he’s a fantastic pick, at the heart of every Villa attack. So creative and loves cutting in off the left.

My punt would be Mahrez as he always has a double point haul in him when he plays. If Pep Roulette strikes though it will hurt.
