No. They’re not morons. But they’re desperate & evil.
The GOP’s not a political party anymore, they’re a cult of personality & they can’t count on their voters to show up for a midterm election in which their cult leader‘s not on the ticket.
So they’re looking into ways to 1/
keep Democrats from showing up in large numbers either.
Voter suppression laws, (ancient but perennial with Republicans) mass evictions before fall 2022 (can’t vote without a street address, just ask folks on a reservation) & most shocking & difficult to believe: ways to kill 2/
large numbers of voters in purple states.
Covid makes a big job easy!
This will also include their own voters, certainly, but like I said, they can’t count on them to show up for this voting cycle anyway, (because Trumps not on the ballot) so it’s OK if they kill them too. 3/
As long as they take a ton of Dems with them. Especially in states like Florida, Texas, Georgia… You know, the states where the Governors are forbidding mask mandates & pushing anti-vaccine propaganda. Purple states with Rep. Governors.
They’re not morons, they’re sociopaths. 4/
And they’re trying to kill just enough voters to swing an election next year.
Won’t they need their own dead voters, you’re wondering, in 2024? They’re hoping to suppress enough votes & kill enough voters & ‘win’ enough senate & house seats as well as Governor & state leg 5/
seats - to generally just amass enough power (through undemocratic means like voter suppression) in 2022 to openly steal 2024. The GOP end goal always has been and still continues to be a country in which they don’t have to fuck around with bs like voting and elections. 6/
They don’t want to, they don’t think they should have to, and most dangerous of all; they still don’t intend to.
Any victory we had in 2020 was just a battle, not the war. Don’t get complacent.
