NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed several aides, a highly anticipated report released by Attorney General Tish James’ office has found.
The outside investigators hired by James’ office found that Cuomo created a “hostile work environment” “rife with fear and intimidation.”
“Governor Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women and in doing so violated federal and state law,” James says
"Investigators independently corroborated and substantiated these facts, interviews, and evidence, including contemporaneous notes and communications. The evidence will be made available to the public, along with the the report,” James goes on to say.
Investigators interviewed 179 individuals, James says, including complainants, current and former staff, state troopers and other state workers, James says.
The investigation shows a “deeply disturbing, but clear picture,” James says.
Gov. Cuomo engaged in "unwanted groping, kissing, huggings and by making inappropriate comments. The governor and his senior team took actions to retaliate against one former employee,” James says.
“I believe them,” James says of the complainants.
“These were not isolated incidents. They were a pattern. The governors pattern sexually harassing behavior not limited to members of his own staff, but extended to other state employees, including state trooper,” says independent investigator Joon Kim.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo reached under an unnamed executive assistant’s blouse and grabbed her breast, independent investigator Anne Clark says. On several other occasions he grabbed her butt.
