THREAD: The feds have taken note of Capitol rioter Jeffrey Grace's involvement in clashes w/ antifascists in Portland, OR this past weekend, & are requesting that his conditions of release be modified to prohibit "possession of firearms, weapons or destructive devices." /1

The government's motion notes that during his initial interview w/ the FBI, Grace "denied membership with other organizations, including the Proud Boys," & then goes on to say "the investigation also revealed that Grace was an active member of the Proud Boys." /2

That's not the only deception on Grace's part that's noted by the government. The motion also notes that "contrary to Grace's assertions, Grace's adult son Jeremy Grace accompanied him inside the Rotunda." /3

Despite Jeffrey Grace's prediction that he would be charged with a felony for "lying to the FBI," to date he has faced no legal liability for attempting to obstruct the government's investigation into his son's actions on Jan. 6. rawstory.com/jeff-grace/ /4

The federal charges filed against Grace, which caused him to lose his job as a long-haul trucker, seem if anything to have radicalized him.

"I've got a new passion that I get to embrace," he told right-wing podcaster Todd Cotta in June. /5

In what the government describes as a "troubling escalation," Grace traveled to El Paso, TX ca. July 20-22, AFTER giving advance notice to pre-trial services, where he went out at night w/ a group to record people he suspected of illegally crossing the US-Mexico border. /6

The government doesn't say whether Grace received permission to travel outside his home state of Washington last weekend to provide "perimeter security" for a pastor in Portland, OR, but notes he carried an array of weapons, including a firearm, wooden baton, chemical spray. /7

According to the government, Grace can be seen in a video posted on Twitter "shoving" an individual during a confrontation under a bridge in Portland. /8

On his YouTube channel, where he documents his travels, Grace indicates he isn't planning on letting up: "Stand up and stay strong, because we got this, and we're growing and going." /9
