1/ H/T @kyledcheney — DOJ revealed in a filing last night that "it may seek to charge several additional defendants and/or seek to add new charges" in the Proud Boys conspiracy case. 2/ As DOJ's filing notes, any new charges would be "based in part on evidence seized on March 8, 2022." As previously reported by @RawStory, the feds raided the home of Proud Boy Jeremy Bertino on that day. rawstory.com/jeremy-bertino/
I’m at the Hagerstown Speedway for the #TruckersConvoy rally. Hard to say how many people are here but it’s definitely hundreds.
2/ Organizer Brian Brase is vague about what will happen tomorrow. “What that is, is yet to be determined. Bear with us.”

Big news from the trucker convoy:
1/ The People's Convoy (the largest organization) has officially "cut ties" with Leigh Dundas, an anti-vax lawyer who was involved with the Jan. 6 insurrection. 2/ For background on Dundas' involvement, the People's Convoy joined forces with her in early February, & they met on Zoom to iron out logistics. Here's Dundas on 2/4: "US convoy coming soon.... I'm working with a lot of different trucking factions over the next 48 hours here."
The "state lead" for the Peoples Maryland/Virginia Convoy Telegram channel is a Proud Boy who attended the Jan. 23 anti-vax rally. He describes a "military operation" to supply the convoy once it reaches DC. rawstory.com/proud-boys-265…
"Ghost" is a member of the Maryland DC Proud Boys, one of three chapters with accelerationist tendencies that our three-part series is examining. Here's the second installment, which ran this morning.
1/ The wrongful conviction of Darryl Hunt, a Black man falsely accused of murdering a white woman, and the 19 years he spent in prison, is an emblem of the deeply entrenched racism that has disfigured Winston-Salem, NC. (photo via @JournalNow) 2/ In its own way, the Darryl Hunt saga is an equivalent trauma to what the Greensboro Massacre inflicted on its neighbor 30 miles to the east.

Catching up on the news from two days ago that Frank Scavo, a Jan. 6 defendant from NE Pennsylvania, has cut a plea deal w/ the govt.
As part of his plea, Scavo agrees to cooperate w/ law enforcement. /1
Noting for posterity that Frank Scavo spoke at a 12/29 rally at Tommy Gun Warehouse w/ Rod of Iron Ministries leader Sean Moon & Vets for Trump officer Teddy Daniels. Steve Bannon was also a featured speaker. /2 rawstory.com/rod-of-iron-mi…

#January6th update: In a filing opposing defendant Edward Lang's motion for release, the govt alleges that Lang repeatedly kicked an officer identified as "Sgt. JM" as he was stuck against the door inside the Lower West Terrace tunnel.
Here's a still from a video that, according to the govt, shows Edward Lang kicking Sgt. JM. "Around 2:57 p.m., Lang and another rioter violently pushed a door against an officer's head and Lang simultaneously kicked at that officer." #January6th

THREAD: The feds have taken note of Capitol rioter Jeffrey Grace's involvement in clashes w/ antifascists in Portland, OR this past weekend, & are requesting that his conditions of release be modified to prohibit "possession of firearms, weapons or destructive devices." /1
The government's motion notes that during his initial interview w/ the FBI, Grace "denied membership with other organizations, including the Proud Boys," & then goes on to say "the investigation also revealed that Grace was an active member of the Proud Boys." /2

Jeffrey Grace marched w/ the Proud Boys in DC before breaching the Capitol on Jan. 6, & joined PBs in Portland this past weekend for a clash w/ left-wing counter-protesters. No comment from prosecutors on whether he's violating terms of release. /1 rawstory.com/jeffrey-grace/
Here's @smileitsnathan's photo of Grace & six other men piling into a pickup to leave Portland after clashing w/ antifascists on Saturday.
Rod of Iron Ministries, a Moonies spinoff that incorporates the AR-15 into worship, mobilized support for the Jan. 6 insurrection as part of vibrant far-right network in NE Pennsylvania, alongside Frank Scavo & Teddy Daniels. /1 rawstory.com/rod-of-iron-mi…
Pastor Sean Moon led Rod of Iron members onto the scaffolding on the west side of the Capitol. One ROI member reflected: "If the scaffolding collapsed from so many people, it would be tragic, but it would be a good way to die as an offering." (photo via @Shutterstock) /2

THREAD: 1/5 Nick Fuentes, who marched at Unite the Right in Charlottesville & rallied Trump supporters outside the Capitol on Jan. 6, is so freaked about Juneteenth becoming a national holiday that he's straight-up attacking Holocaust remembrance & defending Nazism. #JuneTeenth2/5 For Nick Fuentes, commemorating the end of slavery, just like recognizing the genocide of indigenous people & acknowledging the Holocaust of Jews, is all a prelude to "white genocide" — a ridiculous and false belief without foundation in reality.

It's no secret confidence in elections is eroding among conservatives.
But there are signs that willingness to consider violence as an alternative hasn't abated since Jan. 6.

My reporter's notebook for this piece: During lunch break for the "Voter Integrity Bootcamp," presenter Jay DeLancy told me: "They don't like you." Members of the "host committee" for the training wanted me to leave. DeLancy said they mentioned a story I wrote about "Muslims."

THREAD: 1/ Vincent James Foxx (lower left), who hosts the white nationalist podcast "Red Elephants," is mentioned by Stephen Baker aka "Ignoramus" in his livestream from the Capitol insurrection. Baker told his followers: "Red Elephant is right at the door." #CapitolRiots2/ 38 seconds later, Baker says, "And Vincent James was like one of the first people in, I'm almost positive." It's noteworthy that Vincent James Foxx is on the FBI's radar. If there's hard evidence that he did indeed storm the Capitol, it likely spells legal trouble for him.
