Headline indicators for the UK labour market for April to June 2021 show

The number of employees on payroll rose by 182,000 in July 2021.

This was still 201,000 fewer than in February 2020, before the pandemic ow.ly/EhB150FSjPk

1,001.3 million hours were worked each week in April to June 2021.

This is the first time since the onset of #COVID19 that it has been above a billion hours a week, but this is still below pre-pandemic levels ow.ly/mtiB50FSjRJ

After inflation, average pay saw annual growth of 6.6% including bonuses in April to June 2021, while excluding bonuses it was up 5.2%.

These rises are partly the result of statistical factors, and the underlying picture suggests more modest pay rises ow.ly/V7Ul50FSjZg

There were an average of 953,000 job vacancies across May to July 2021, up from 663,000 compared with February to April 2021.

Early figures for July show there were more than 1 million vacancies that month for the first time ever ow.ly/ITdt50FSk1z
