GW1 edition of ‘The Weekly Scope’ 🎯by
@FPL_Mihir & @FPLOlympian

In this thread, we scope in on the 3 most inform players of GW1, with each of us providing a verdict on whether to ‘buy’ or ‘ignore’ each bandwagon

This week we cover:
Paul Pogba
H.M. Son
Said Benrahma
#FPL

Pogba had 4 assists against Leeds United and has had his first price rise of the season, Even though Pogba was brilliant against Leeds Pogba is a curious case of being a good player in real life and not good FPL wise, He is the most transferred in player this week too. Heatmap⤵️

Pogba only had an xA of 0.72 against Leeds which shows he outperformed massively with Leeds conceding from half chances, at 7.5mil Greenwood is the better option as he is playing OOP as a number 9.
Pogba is #6 in the below diagram

Verdict
@FPL_Mihir : Avoid ❎
@FPLOlympian : Avoid ❎

Heung min Son scored the Winner against Man City and looked brilliant against them playing OOP (Out Of Position) in the center forward role. Son faces Wolves next Gameweek who tend to hold a very high line under their

manager Bruno Lage, Even if Kane decides to leave Son will be a good asset as he will also be on penalties and be the main man. Son had an xG of 0.25 vs Man City but he is renowned to be one of the best finishers in the world so it wont be a problem for Son if he leaves. Heatmap:

Son also faces Newly promoted Watford and the bottom half Crystal palace after it.
Son is #7 in the below diagram
Verdict:
@FPL_Mihir : Buy ✅
@FPLOlympian : Buy ✅

Benrahma’s average position was the furthest forward and most central in the WHU team, playing a very similar role to Lingard last season. Antonio had the tendency to drop deeper at times, which benefitted Benrahma by giving him the extra space to make promising forward runs.

Against Newcastle Benrahma managed 2 attacking returns (1G, 1A) from an xGI of 0.51, indicating a slight overperformance, but also some clinical finishing. Though given the small sample size of 1 week, it’s no real concern. Heatmap ⤵️

Leicester up next may not be as difficult as it seems, being very lucky not to concede with an xGC of 1.5 in GW1. Then it’s Palace and Southampton straight after who conceded 3 goals each in GW1.
Also, note that Antonio missed a pen and Benrahma has a penalty record of 6/6

Benrahma is #22 in the image below.

Verdict:
@FPL_Mihir : Buy ✅
@FPLOlympian : Buy ✅
