Located ruins of an ancient Shiva temple in Malappuram district of Kerala.

The temple premises will be cleared this week as part of the efforts to revive the temple.

The Shiva temple premises has been cleared.

What got revealed was a large Shivling and the ruins of an ancient temple.

We have started the process to restore this ancient temple and revive the worship of Lord Shiva, the KalaSamharaMurti

Ayyamkulangara Shiva temple has Ganapati, Shasta and Devi as other Deities.

During Deva Prashna, it was found that praying to Uma Maheshwara at the temple will be beneficial for married men and women and also for marriage.

During astrological calculations it was found that the sacred well of the Ayyamkulangara temple was desecrated using animal waste and bones.

The land, air and water will be sanctified again as we revive this Shiva temple.

The insights during Devaprashna about the defilement of sacred well of the temple was later corroborated by elders in the village.

Animal bones were found while the well was cleaned in 2011 when devotees made an attempt to revive the temple.

The Shivlinga at Ayyamkulangara Uma Maheswara temple is made of Rudraksha shila which explains its rugged surface.

Triprangode Mahadeva temple nearby also has the same type of Shivlinga.

Revival of the temple has started.

Brahmasree Kalppuzha Vasudevan Nambudiri is the Chief Priest of Ayyamkulangara Uma Maheshwara temple.

On Sep 16, the initial pujas were performed by him. He also removed a stone from Garbagriha, marking start of restoration.

As part of the restoration, the Garbagriha of Ayyamkulangara temple will be completely dismantled, the work of which has started.

The foundation of the temple will also be strengthened.

Three poisonous snakes were found while dismantling the Garbagriha. They left soon.

It's common to see snakes visit certain type of temples especially that of Shiva.

Vastu Acharya Kanipayyur Kuttan Nambudiri marked the dimensions of the Garbagriha on ground. Work will start soon.

During Devaprashna it was found that the Shiva chaitanya at Ayyamkulangara Uma Maheswara temple first manifested during Dwaparayuga.

Later the chaitanya appeared before a great Shivbhakt at the locality who then consecrated at the temple for welfare of family.

Brahmasree Kalppuzha Vasudevan Nambudiri will do the shila puja. Brahmasree Unni Ambotti of the Shankarodathu Kovilakam royal family will do the shila sthapanam.

Shilastapanam at Ayyamkulangara Uma Maheshwara temple, Malappuram was done by Unni Ambotti, the heir of the Shankarodathu Kovilakam royal family.

The precious metals to be kept below the cornerstone was also contributed by him.

Next in the restoration of Ayyamkulangara UmaMaheswara temple, Malappuram is the installation of stone door frames.

The materials are ready. This is a ritual which involves puja and suitable planetary positions.

Looking forward for an auspicious day in February 2022.

The practical difficulties were many for something as simple as an electricity connection for Ayyamkulangara Uma Maheswara temple in Malappuram.

Most difficulties are managed and solved locally, which help us move ahead than stuck in endless litigations.

The name board of Ayyamkulangara UmaMaheswara temple in Malappuram was found damaged twice.

Our next step would be to secure the temple and it's land.

The flooring alignment was corrected reusing existing stones with Shivlinga insitu.

Acharyas had advised not to remove or shift the Shivlinga from the Garbagriha.
