GW2 edition of ‘The Weekly Scope’
by @FPLOlympian & @FPL_Mihir

In this thread, we analyse the 3 most inform/hyped players of the gameweek, with each of us providing a verdict on whether to ‘buy’ or ‘avoid’ each player

This week we cover:

DCL 🔵
Livramento 😇
Raphinha ⚪️

#FPL

DCL was once again impressive this week. With a npxG of 1.5 and 4 SoT, plus also missing a big chance, he was very unlucky not to score 1-2 more goals v Leeds.

To many people’s surprise, DCL also stepped up to take a penalty which only adds to his appeal.

Everton are set up in a way that is built around DCL scoring goals, with Rafa Benitez openly admitting that.

As we can see from his heat map, he is continuing as a poacher that brought him many goals last season under Ancelotti, with Richarlison playing behind him in support

The next 4 fixtures are also quite promising for Everton, with Brighton, Burnley and Norwich in the next 4.

Livramento now has 2/2 starts, with two solid performances. With the tactical change in the second half, Livramento moved into a much more attacking role from RB to RWB. He also made a few promising forward runs beyond the strikers 👀

Something also to note was that KWP was subbed on very late at LWB, with Livramento remaining on the pitch for the full 90 mins.

And for Hasenhuttl to start him ahead of KWP in such a big game, it’s a positive sign for Livramento.

He also earned himself a POTM performance 👀

Soton have mixed fixtures in the next 4, but the main focus should be gaining a playing & attacking 4.0m defender to replace Tsimikas. With Duffy in danger to losing his spot to Veltman, Livramento could be the standout option

Verdict 👇

Raphinha so far this season has accumulated 0.45 xG and 0.15 xA which shows he has picked up from where he left off last year.

Against Everton he managed a goal from 6 goal attempts and 2 SoT, which ultimately earned him a MOTM worthy performance.

On the eye test, Raphinha looks very involved in every Leeds attack. He made the pass before the assist for the first goal and scored the second one.

He also has created 2 big chances in the league so far, showing that he’s unlucky not to have an assist so far this season.

Leeds face BUR (xGC of 4.32 - ranked 19th), LIV & NEW in the next 3, which are good fixtures from an attacking POV.

With the quarantine rumours being put down, Raphinha looks like he won’t be missing any fixtures after the IB

Verdict 👇

@FPL_Mihir has also provided us with a bonus analysis this week on Antonio - consisting of 5 simple words… 😉
