e-SHRAM card will give a new identity to crores of Unorganized Workers. It will be valid all across the country.

In e-SHRAM portal, details of unorganized workers like skill, educational qualification, place of residence, state etc. have been asked for. We will use these information to ensure that benefits like PF, Housing, Ration Card are made available to them: Secretary, @LabourMinistry

In the future when we will have more data, we can work for skill-upgradation of unorganized workers. They can be made to pursue a skill-development course in their field of work. They can also be enrolled in the National Career Service portal: Secy, @LabourMinistry

Some states had started this work on their own. We will now collate all data coming from states and then share data from e-SHRAM portal with State Govts, so that state-level benefits can be extended to the unorganized workers: Secy, @LabourMinistry
