🇺🇸 Texas has just enforced the strictest abortion law in the US.

🚨 But it’s not the only state seeking to overturn the landmark #RoevWade ruling in the 1970s that legalized abortion nationwide.

🔴 Texas

🚫 The #SB8 law banning abortions after 6 weeks came into effect after the Supreme Court declined to block it.

♀ Yet rights groups say 85%-90% of abortions in Texas are obtained after 6 weeks.

📜 Doctors who perform abortions after the cut-off mark can now be sued.

🔴 Mississippi

🏛 The Supreme Court agreed to hear the state's bid to revive a law that bans abortion after 15 weeks.

⚖️ The ruling is expected next year.

⭕️ Louisiana approved a similar ban, but it will not take effect before Mississippi's law is decided upon.

🔴 Arkansas

🚨 The state has banned all abortions except in medical emergencies.

🚫 No exceptions are made in cases of rape or incest.

⚖️ A federal judge has blocked enforcement of the ban pending a legal challenge by @PPact and the @ACLU.

🔴 Oklahoma

🚫 In April, @GovStitt signed a law banning abortion entirely except when a patient’s life is in danger.

🗓 It's due to come into effect in November.

📜 Anticipating potential legal challenges, he also signed an alternative bill banning abortion from 6 weeks.

🔴 Arizona

📜 Republican Governor @dougducey introduced a law banning abortions performed because of genetic disorders.

⭕ These include Down's syndrome or cystic fibrosis - unless the condition is considered lethal.

🗓 The ban is scheduled to be enforced from September.

🇺🇸 Women in America face an "all-out assault" on abortion rights, says @Guttmacher.

🗣️ The nearly 600 abortion restrictions enacted over the past decade are part of a coordinated campaign, says policy expert @ElizNash.

🚫 The end goal, she says, is to ban abortion nationwide.
