Think buying NFTs is too complicated?

Here's a simple 4 step guide to buying your first NFT (for absolute beginners):

🧵

Buying NFTs is pretty easy and straightforward.

You'll need 4 things:

1. An account with an exchange.

2. Where you can buy some Ethereum.

3. Which you will transfer to a wallet.

4. That you can then use to purchase an NFT on OpenSea.

Here's how to do all 4 👇🏼

1. Open an account with an exchange.

In order to buy an NFT, you need a cryptocurrency called Ethereum.

The easiest way to purchase Ethereum is an exchange app.

You can download an exchange app like Coinbase to get started.

2. Purchase some Ethereum (ETH).

Once you've set up an account on Coinbase:

- Set up your payment details.
- Tap on ETH.
- Go ahead and purchase some.

*WARNING*

This is your first time buying crypto.

Take it easy and get the hang of it before you get adventurous.

Buy a small amount - like $10 of ETH - to understand how everything works.

You can buy larger amounts later.

3. Transfer your ETH into an ETH wallet.

A wallet is an app just like Coinbase.

Before you purchase an NFT, you need to store your ETH in a wallet.

I use a wallet called MetaMask, but there are plenty of other great ones.

How to transfer ETH:

In your wallet app: copy your account address at the top.

In the Coinbase app: tap exchange > tap send > select your ETH amount > paste your wallet address > send.

4. Purchase an NFT on OpenSea.

Guess what? It's shopping time 🛍️

Open opensea.io in your browser.

Tap on explore or go visit collections.

Scroll to your heart's content and see what tickles your fancy.

See something you like?

Is it an ape?

Is it a zombie?

Maybe it's an ape zombie!

Go ahead and tap that Buy Now button.

You'll be asked to connect your wallet and you're good to go.

In a few minutes you'll see your new NFT appear in your wallet.

Congrats on buying your first NFT 🙌🏼

Small correction: I accidentally added a pic of the Coinbase wallet instead of the Coinbase exchange app in step 1.

Thanks or pointing it out @mitch_troy and @cagataykurt.
