US media continues to give credit and space to primarily white, US-based men who not only aren’t experts on the true costs the Afghan people bear from the US’ #EndlessWar in #Afghanistan, but in some cases actually helped create the suffering Afghans continue to face.
<THREAD>🧵

We've put together some helpful "profiles"😃 for you to learn more about some of the men we're talking about & why they should NEVER be considered experts on Afghanistan or anything else!

And be sure to scroll to the end to learn about some of the real experts to follow instead!

First up is Paul Bremer: "Governor" of the Occupation of Iraq. Don't listen to this guy.😖

Second, we've got Paul Wolfowitz: former deputy secretary of defense and an Iraq War architect. Ew.🤢

This wouldn't be a solid list without John Bolton: the 3rd national security advisor that Trump cycled through. Complete warmonger — 0/10 would recommend taking advice from him.😒

And we can't forget Mike Pompeo: Trump's 2nd secretary of state. He's a warmongering white supremacist, 'nuff said.🙃

Elliott Abrams... We're trying and failing to figure out why anyone would still value opinions from this war criminal.🥴

Moving on to Erik Prince: found of Blackwater, Trump crony, and weapons supplier to dictators and warlords. And guess what? This POS is now charging $6,500/person to evacuate Afghans.🤬

Moving on to David Petraeus: general in charge of the US war in Afghanistan. Can we please, please, please not treat this guy as if he has anything of value to add at this point?😑

And to conclude this List of Terribles, we've got H.R. McMaster: lieutenant general in Afghanistan, and another national security advisor that Trump eventually tossed out. He's a liar. Moving on.🤥

The true experts on Afghanistan that we should be centering are Afghans and members of the Afghan diaspora. Period.

Here's an great list of groups and individuals to follow and support, and you can learn even more about them on our previous thread!
